Ribs are much better, can put 80% of my weight on em now. My grip is the issue now. Did a thorough back workout yesterday, but used straps to secure my grip! Glad to be back in my gym!

Lol. Had to have a sit down talk with the wife & kid… They’ve been using the gym since I was laid up. Well they weren’t racking the weights. I walked out to plates on the floor, plates on the machines, attachments everywhere.Hell yeah! I should’ve read through to the last post first! Lol. That’s awesome man!

Nah brutha, when I fell I tried to grab the side rail of the boat. My fingers didn’t hold out. I snapped my middle finger backwards which was laying on the top of my hand. My ring finger was taking a hard 90° crossing under my pinky.Your ribs are affecting your grip or just time off from gym?
FUCK! Nerve damage you think?Nah brutha, when I fell I tried to grab the side rail of the boat. My fingers didn’t hold out. I snapped my middle finger backwards which was laying on the top of my hand. My ring finger was taking a hard 90° crossing under my pinky.
I didn’t keep the splints on like a should of and re-broke at least one. So I have two fingers that are now healing wonky. That’s what’s causing the grips issues. So I’m using straps to help now.

Well the attending ER doc said it was a possibility that I had nerve damage. But I also didn’t get an MRI. Just X-rays of the hand/fingers. I was supposed to see a specialist to surgically repair them, but opted not to.FUCK! Nerve damage you think?
Yea and nothing wrong with straps on heavy lifts I use them as I have small hands. Plus with straps when I dead I can focus on the mind muscle connection and form much better.Well the attending ER doc said it was a possibility that I had nerve damage. But I also didn’t get an MRI. I’m okay with them angling towards my pinky instead of being straight. As long as I can get 80% grip strength back. I’m getting close to that, but I still need straps when the weight gets heavy. If I were in my 20’s I most likely would have seen the hand specialist.

Woke up today and can't take deep breaths. This sucks. Going to the chiropractor just to get some X-rays. Then assess from there. They did CT Scans to chest and my lower abdomen.Just making sure my spleen wasn’t ruptured, no lacerated kidneys, punctured lung, or damage to heart.
I have 3 that are broken in more than one place. The others are broken completely or just fractured.
If I start experiencing any abdominal issues im supposed to immediately return to the ER. Fortunately it wasn’t worse!!!
I’m not trying to take away from @MuaiTai injuries. But like you said 1-3 broken/fractured ribs isn’t the same as near caving in my entire right side. I know it hurts either way.
Simply breathing is a chore!

Don't want to go to the ER just to get an X-ray.
If I'm dealing with bruised rips ok. I'll wait it out. But if I have broken rib then that's another thing.
I just know it hurts to take deep breaths but only coming from the right side.
One of my extracurricular activities is boxing. I go to open sparring sessions around the city.Hey bro,
Not sure if I missed it but what happen?
Yeah. It's looking like a 'severe' bruise at this point. Still sucks as I can't even do some light cardio. They taped me up to keep the muscle from hitting the nerve. That at least allows me to talk without seizing up in pain.in various confrontations I have totaled around 8 broke ribs.
They "SOUND SCARY"
I mounted someone ground and pound and this person was bipolar and under the influence of narcotics and alcohol blacked out (family member who had a history of these outbursts) - My goal was to restrain this person not hurt them. They slipped around like a wet fish, and kneed me in the ribs and broke 3 at once, stabbed my arm with scissors that were near them and bit my upper ab area.
I have one that never healed and is still popped out you can see its protruding , every other one healed on its own easily, sure it constrains breathing and is uncomfortable, but its NOT NEARLY as bad as it sounds,
I saw my mom get buckd off a thoroughbred horse when I was 18 , she went flat in the air like a mummy as to not go head first through the metal roofing over the horse corral, as it bumped her directly head first into, so she went flat in the air full mummy style fell and broke 4 ribs. She stayed down gasping for breath, I panicked, and she insisted didn't call ambulance. She took a swig of whiskey and walked it off, went to ER next day and they loaded her with tramadol of course
When injuries happen, I only experience the pain for a few seconds no matter what it is, and adrenaline instantly takes over. i am sure I cant be the only one like this, but my pain tolerance is INSANE and just results in anger/frustration rather than expressing physical pain.
happy healing bro
so i went into my frigid garage and did some hang stretches from the squat rack.Yeah. It's looking like a 'severe' bruise at this point. Still sucks as I can't even do some light cardio. Here I am sitting in the MRI lobby, all muscle bound and shit. But moving like an old man.
Probably needed to sit down for a few days. As soon as I can turn to the right without pain, I'll at least just do some light stationary bike. At the least I need to do some cardio. Had a friend trying to spend the night last night, and I wasn't even interested.
yeah pain does suck.. but luckily i just bruised my ribs or something in that area..Man, I don’t envy you… I basically caved in one side of my rib cage and the pain totally sucked ass!!!!! THC was a miracle worker for myself during those few months. I was taking 300mg THC/day.
Workouts weren’t happening, but it allowed me to get back at work to point fingers and direct my crews on what to do.
