Thanks Marilyn, this is a special weekend for me to remember what my saviour did on the cross and what the empty tomb means. To those who may be tempted: seriously- hold the smart alec comments.
Speaking of memories- I remember my grandfather used to dig a pit and hand roast a whole lamb every Easter... phenomenal!
Marilyn, thank you for your thoughtful words. I will be praying for you. We spent the day in silence and prayer from 12-3PM today. My four children colored 3-4 dozen eggs last night. Christ is love. Giving, sharing, praying, spending time together as a family and bringing joy into the childrens lives is what Easter is all about. This is what Christ did while He walked among friends. This is what Christ did after He resurrected. Christians see an egg as the seed of life which makes the eggs symbolic of the resurrection of Christ. The Church absored these old pagan beliefs into Christian rituals, which included the rabbit and eggs. Everyone has an opinion. I believe we need to look at history and study our faith before we pass any judgement. PAX.
