Gym Shoes??

Wow great info, great thread. I had no idea about this area of weightlifting..thx

They look comfortable. Are they light weight?

very light weight and hold up well. very little compression so the feet are secure. very stable no slippage as there are built to be around water. probably not what i would run in but for the step mill etc it works good. and they fit well with my wide feet.

i really like my reebok rezigs. really comfy and have held up for about 4 years.

back when i played football and could squat and deadlift before fucking up my back, i used to wear chippewa boots. they were awesome for that. my coach used to call them my Nazi boots, looking like i was ready to invade Poland.

I am currently using Nike free trainers and they seem to work well but the heel support is breaking down so it's time for something new. I tested out some Reebok crossfit nanos and they were awesome. I like the wide toe and flat sole. The decision is between those and a pair of Altra.

I literally just bought my girl a pair of nanos. I feel like these will be her every day training shoe and I'm going to get her an olympic lifting shoe for squats. I'm still up in the air on what ones to buy... or if she would even need them.

Man those mark bell shoes are ugly as hell. Look like cabbage patch kids shoes

Just picked up a pair of Nike Air Max Torch 4s today. Just broke them in on leg day tonight. I have no complaints, definitely a solid gym shoe. I've tried Otomix in the past. They were VERY narrow and gave me awful blisters on the sides of my feet, had excellent ankle support though. I think if I had a better fitted pair I would have liked the Otomix better but for me they just destroyed my feet.

For squats its a good ole pair of Wal-Mart military boots.
Everything else its Skechers with memory foam.

I just picked a new pair of the Jordan trainers. There a lot cheaper then airs and feel super stable

I don't like anything soft or with much heel when I train. I like a solid flat platform. I just found a pair of Reebok Crossfit Nano 2.0 on sale and they are great. good support and a solid base.

Chucks are my go-to, but I like air jordans as well if I want a little more padding (bad knees). They really fit pretty tight on your feet, which is what I want on leg days when I need a solid base to push off. You can get them pretty reasonably too compared to the other brands mentioned, just grab the "older" styles on sale. Just need to go one size up from your normal shoe.
