Obviously I see many training abs daily. I would assume abs are made of the same various muscle tissues and fibers of others, and I've seen these folks with tremendous results.
I've often wondered why we treat abs so differently (I don't).
I've never tried everyday for any other muscle, but when I was much younger I did everyother day full body workout. (I know, I know, but we did not know better). Gains improved when I broke this schedule.
With that said, I believe more than most of the brain/muscle connection and how we adapt very quickly. I think most change works for the short haul if nothing else to get the mind/muscle connection to reset instead of coasting. I guess it works well for me because I get into very fixed habits, times, routines and do not vary enough naturally.
In general if you are working hard enough to tear the fibers down, I would think that every day is, in the end, not going to yield good results.
