Heavy negatives with no spotters

@alfresco

OK, so I checked out the links. Truth to be told about them, is that anyone who has studied DC training shouldn't be very surprised with them. The major thing about DC is reducing recovery time from 7 days to 3-4, and, having done DC and other inspired forms of training, I agree with these special techniques. The problem for me with only doing negatives is the practicality. I'd get bored. I like the classic approach of up and down normally. I like doing the positive reps too.

While looking for some rattlesnake fotos, I ran across one of Arthur Jones working
out on a negative bench press machine. You can see the foot pad that you pushed
to raised the weight. I believe these machines were prototypes (made especially
for the Co. Exp.?), never commercially available but don't hold me to that.

Now that is kinda cool. I never bench on machines anymore but I'd probably try that out.

Notice, that machine had a parallel grip. (Think dips.) A much stronger position.

I'm not sure about stronger (perhaps a tiny bit) but certainly easier on your shoulder joints.
