help for tendonitis

a few years back I developed tendonitis in my right arm, had a couple of cortisone shots which helped but it still bothers me somewhat. now I have it on my left arm and it's so bad sometimes I can't even straighten my arm out.
Is there anything besides cortisone and anti-inflamatories that can help heal this?

I had it a few months back in my right elbow and got bored with constant ice, rest, elevate, heat, anti inflams etc so i did a few localised IGF administrations and Ive been pain free for 3 months now.

Before the flaming starts, this was recommended by a doc and it worked.

I too have it in my elbow. Where did you do the IGF in the tricep muscle, forearm or both? How often did you do this?

I did it subq in various places in my forearm above the elbow where i had the most pain

EQ is great for increasing collagen synthesis, even more so than deca (so i have read) - collagen of course is a constituent of connective tissue.

I have tendinitis in both elbows and have been dealing with the pain for quite some time now. I have never used IGF but I'm very interested in your protocol if it helped relieve the pain. Is the IGF your referring to IGF-1 LR3 that can be purchased from some of the board sponsors or something else? What is the exact protocol you used; how much, how often, how long? Would appreciate any help you can give.

Pentosan

Read up on Cartrophen Vet (pentosan).

i've used pentosan, adequan, igf-1, gh, etc, amd my elbow tendonitis only really got better when i stopped training triceps on a separate day than my heavy pressing. now i just do a few heavy sets after my barbell chest or shoulder work. (got the idea from Levrone, who had some of the best tris of all time). now my tris are bigger than before, and my elbows feel fine.

i know it is sort-of a boring and uncreative answer, but i really do think that allot of elbow issues may be related to overtraining of the joint. imagine doing heavy leg extensions 3-4 days a week. this would obviously cause some knee pain. the cumulative load of multiple pressing workouts a week, with extra tri extension work on another day, represents a similar over-stressing of the joint.

IGF-1 LR3 100mcg diluted with Bac Water pinned 7 times around the area in a 48hr period. After approx 2 weeks all tendonitis had gone completely.

This worked for me but whatever you do is your own responsibility. Im not a doctor. Good luck :)

Deca seems to help a lot. I haven't had any problems with my tendons since i added a bit of deca to my HRT for two months. I've had tendonitis in my left elbow twice and pain in my wrist tendons and it's completely gone now. Hope it stays that way.

I had it in my outer forearm extending down into my hands in both arms. It got to the point where I couldn't even grip a bar fully. The pain really limited my training. Now I can say I rarely ever feel the pain, first off, I grouped my bodyparts together, like chest/tris instead of chest/bis, and did back/bis instead of back/tris. I find just doing the muscle groups that work together and letting them recover helped a lot. The second thing was ommiting movements that I believed was the cause of the problems (lying ext, straight bar curls, etc.). The final thing was adding in fish oil as part of my supplements, I beleive fish oils is the key to helping with the inflammation, it definatly worked very well for me. I can say I went from being annoyingly in pain everyday that really set me back in the gym, now I'm doing 100%.

great post. the inflammation angle is a really interesting one... i've noticed much less tendon/joint issues when i'm dieting and really cut out grain products. could be that those foods are causing inflammation for me.

I think DC stated somewhere once that menthol creams also help out, like Tiger Balm, etc. Correct me if I'm mistaken. I have used it before bed a lot of times, the belief is that it aids by drawing heat/blood into the area assisting with the healing process. I guess just another thing you can add into the process to help ease the pain.

been seeing affordable portable ultrasound machines now too. dunno if the power is high enough to do anything though

7 jabs over a 48hr period, thats it, nothing more.

The pain subsided over a 2 week period and then it was gone.
