How fat is too fat...

well the belt size is still the same but i swear my lovehandles grew like weeds. abs are still visiable but with about a cm of bf ontop of them... how fat do most of you guys let yourselves go in the offseason?

Well 6.8 you look more like 30.06........LMAO!! That's one hella offseason there bro. Is the kitchen still standing or did you eat that too????? LOL.

Most folks who workout never really "let themselves get fat" they may enjoy an extra cheat food here and there but never let themselves get fat and then say "ok, I'm at my fat limit I better get back to working out". Most folks like to keeping the fat off, that way they don't have trouble later on getting back off.

I experience the same problem. Years ago when I first started bodybuilding I went about gaining the wrong way and tried the Lee Priest bulk which was a HUGE mistake. I actually let myself get fat enough that now even when I diet down to a BF of lower than 7% I still have some loose skin and stretch marks around my lower abs and lower back/obliques. I swear my body has almost plotted against me because that's the absolute first place that fat acculumates. Some call it former fat boy syndrome and that you've actually increased the number of fat cells as opposed to just increasing their existing size. So whenever you eat in excess even slightly they blow up like marshmellows. Sucks considering the only way to rid the extra fat cells and loose skin is liposuction and abdominoplasty. I first though it might be estrogen related but SERM's and AI's didn't help either. So to answer your question I try to stay pretty lean year round which also sucks cause cause I know it hinders my growth .
 
my mentor/friend (robin parker) wants me to stay around 15 lbs over dieted weight (not stage weight...thank god).

LOL! beefcake! beefcake! I am on two carts of synovex per day! I have my g/f shoot me in the asses (front & back) with the implant gun before I go to work. And people think test prop injections hurt! :rolleyes: :D
 
you're a happy meal away from floating over the Thanksgiving day parade. What the hell is that diet guys name that's in the picture,didn't he die?
 
For me, I can lose BF quite efficiently and I find that I "grow" more efficiently in the off-season when I don't worry about gaining a little BF. I think the mistake most guys make is that once they "bulk" and put on some BF, they don't always diet down afterward and lose the BF they gained. They end up going on ANOTHER "bulk" phase which results in an accumulative effect.

I try not to go much over 15% and I would say that for most, anything under 18% should be manageable! Much over that and it will certainly be much harder to shed!
