HSCRP (High-sensitivity C-reactive protein) Advice

So a few months ago I had an extensive blood panel done with multiple blood tests that I like to check two or three times a year. One of those tests was HSCRP which until a few days ago I did not realize was High-sensitivity C-reactive protein 🤦 (yes I feel like a moron lol).

I have been feeling tired and fatigued here and there over the last couple of months and I went back to reveiew my past blood tests to see what was off and could potentially be causing me to feel run down. My HSCRP was very elevated and tests at > 10.

Now there are multple things that can cause high levels of inflamation such as diet, exercize, compound selection, pinning, carrier oils etc... I am looking into all these and I think part of the reason could be related to an iron deficiancy so i will be ordering an iron panel along with another HSCRP soon just to see if that is the cause because in the past I was iron deficient and felt the same kind of fatigue.

Besides all that I wanted to make this post to seek the advice and annecdotal evidence of others on what you have seen or experienced works best to combat inflamation.

Some things I am interested in and looking into are possibly dosing NSAIDs daily at a low dose like maybe baby asprin but I have read a lot of conflicting information on using NSAIDs often and am still doing more research. I have also been reading reports and have gained a lot of interest in possibly using TB500 along with BPC157 year round to keep systemic inflamation low at all times (in all honesty this kind of makes sense to me given how TB500 and BPC157 work).

So tell me what is your best anti-inflamatory stack? Have you had experience reducing high levels of inflamation? Did you do blood tests to see how well your stack works?

Thanks and I am interested in what others have to say.

At that level you likely have an infection or high level of inflamation in your body from an injury or tissue damage. You do not want to stay that high.

I agree with @Doitagain in finding the root cause. Taking a statin or ARB to mask it isn’t an ideal solution. Finding the root cause is.

keep in mind HSCRP is more sensitive and more effective than regular crp (cardiovascular). Most people are getting HSCRP done to measure cardiovascular health. Regular CRP will show chronic inflammation everywhere for example, RA, IBD, infection etc. Doubt iron is the issue (mine was 12 with low HCRP). As Doitagain stated, no quick fix here. At least you know to look into your cardiovascular health more Indepth.

What has your gear load been? I'd really take a look at the gear you are using and what carrier oils they are.

A better way to find out where it’s coming from is to look at the rest of your bloodwork. Feel free to DM me if preferred, but you’ll likely have other markers off that can help you get to the root of the issue.

Inflammation is just a process or signal letting us know something is off. The key is to find what’s causing the inflammation.

High MCV- I would add folic acid. This is likely elevated from the smoking/vaping.

Low MCHC- Potential indicator of iron deficiency and anemia. I personally would run an iron panel with ferritin to confirm. The ferritin will be good to see to gauge inflammation as well.

Your WBC markers are in range so doesn’t seem that it’s an infection or an immune response for your HSCRP. This would make me agree more with @Reno911 on looking at the quality of your gear. If you’re getting PIP and inflammation from it then it’s time to get a good source IMO.

I’m sure you’re using a good liver support supplement, if not I would be and add in 1000mg of TUDCA daily along with Taurine.

For inflammation overall I use Natto/Serra AM empty stomach.

This is what I would do and my opinion obviously. 😊

Very much appreciated!

High MCV - This was strange to me as well because I never have and never will smoke and/or vape.
Low MCHC - Yeah this is what I was thinking and already added a Ferritin, Iron and TIBC Panel to my next blood work order.

Already taking Tudca at 500mg everyday and 10g-15g Taurine everyday as well.

If my HSCRP comes back high again I will look into Nattokinase, what dose do you personally use? And by Serra do you mean Serrapeptase? If so same question what dose do you personally use?

Thanks again I really appreciate insight on this as I was slightly concerned because it was so elevated but since everything else looked relatively normal I was not over whelmingly concerned since my cardiovascular health does not seem to be dropping off but such a high hscrp kind of confused me.

To give you an idea of how quick it can change- I do bloodwork every 3 weeks during a prep. I had a bad injection that inflamed really bad. When I got bloods done my HSCRP was >10. 3 weeks later long after that cleared it was 0.9.

I say that as CRP clears the blood fast and most times is due to an acute issue. It’s when it stays elevated that you should be concerned.

I use Doctors Best Natto/Serra which is a blend of nattokinase and serrapeptase. I take 3 capsules on an empty stomach straight out of bed first thing AM year round.

Thanks for the supplement advice I really do appreciate you sharing things that help you. And thanks for hscrp anecdote as well, it puts my mind at ease. Guess we will have to see what my next set of labs show 😁.

Hey man. Did you do another set of HSCRP bloods? Any improvement?

Mine has been between 6 and 3 for about three years now.

Going in for bloods next week and have this on the list. I held off because I wanted to add a bunch of other tests as well before adding in another compound.

Just got my results back and HSCRP is now at 3 so it is much better. Only change was introducing some recommendations from @bbxtreme. I added in DAO enzyme at 4.2mg and natto/serro at 3 caps a day (which I think contributed the most).

Got my iron panel back and as I suspected my Ferritin is very low. Any recommendations on what form and dosage of iron supplementation you would recommend. I have been looking into Iron (as Ferrous Sulfate) and maybe taking 120mg a day since my ferritin is very low. I see @nothuman also has some experience with iron levels and supplements so I would love to hear his input as well. Thanks all!

Iron Bisglycinate EOD to start would be my suggestion first thing AM empty stomach. It’s much more tolerable than other forms IMO. Thorne makes a great one.

Thanks, looks like they come in 25mg tablets, do you think only 25mg every other day would be enough?

That’s where I would personally start as stated in my previous post. The body has no way to clear excess iron so you want to take in only what is needed. Start at the minimum amount and work up based on bloodwork.
