He claims to be eating 8k calories… I’m sure any of you who have pushed the food and scale know that someone his size is NOT eating anywhere close to this. No clue how people actually think this is true 😂
Crazy at one point he said eating 4500 calories was hard. I'll never understood how so many people have difficulty eating with all the calorie dense foods (healthy and junk) we have to choose from.

8k is another story but very few people even need to get in that realm. Imo a hardgainer is someone who has difficulty building lean muscle, because anyone can put on weight just like anyone can lose weight. A wise man once told me there aren't people who have trouble gaining or losing weight...just people who don't like to eat and people who like to eat too much.
 
The free world has at least 2 things it is completely and obviously full of shit on: Pornography and Drugs.

There are definitely more than 2 things but 2 things I think most everyone here would agree on are these...without causing internet drama.

You will never hear a movie star working in that industry admit to drug use. It has to be the good old fashioned way. Blood, sweat, and tears. When you want to deny usage, you will often hear people throw a ridiculous number out there. In this case it's 8k calories a day.

Dorian Yates did something similar with his Olympia run for the magazines. Apparently "take more shit" scares people and advertising revenue away.

Honestly, it really depends on what his expenditure is, how his metabolism is and the amounts of drugs used etc…

Not everyone trains like a bodybuilder and his diet has some pretty calorie dense foods in it..

If you’re eating strictly clean foods, yea, 8k calories is pretty damn hard. I remember when @danieltx posted his diet and it’s mostly clean foods, and it was so much volume I highly doubt I could ever eat that much clean food.. Now put burgers and pizzas in front of me and I can easily smash 10k calories a day, and I’m no where near Daniel’s size or Wolverine for that matter lol now the caveat? Will I look like either of them eating like that? Hell no.. 🤣

But I’d say if you’re starting from a fairly lean state, you have some good PEDs, a good training program and a good mix of clean foods with some calorie dense foods and your expenditure is high, then 8k calories is very doable..

I know several BJJ/MMA guys that put down crazy amounts of food and they compete anywhere from 135lbs to 170lbs, nevermind heavyweights..

Mikey Musumeci comes to mind; he’s a 135lb multiple time world champion in BJJ, have you seen him post his foods? He literally eats Pizza and Pasta every single day, anywhere from 7k-10k calories a day, he’s 135lbs and walks around easily 5% bodyfat (he’s got tons of pics online)… But he trains 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
 
I think Brian Shaw eats 8-9,000 Calories on full blast mode, and he looks miserable at the last two meals.

And the last meal is 3 scoops protein and 4 pieces of cheesecake

Eight thousand calories would be 64 million kilocalories I believe.

If you consume 2500 kilocalories a day for just over 70 years, you’ve accomplished 8000 calories.

I'm sure he's eating a lot to gain but I'd be surprised if it's honestly 4000 of he's eating clean.

A 1000 calorie Sirloin is about 20 oz , 175g protein and 32g fat , twice a day.??🤨

Eating pizza and pasta every day, 10k calories, and keeping 5% that's an athlete right there.

Not scientific but I'm a believer that a fast metabolism is a sign of good health and slow means poor health.

If 2 guys are 210 at 9 percent and one has a maintenance of 3.5k and thinks it's a chore, the other has a maintenance of 5,k and is still hungry, the second guy is probably healthier, training harder, has more energy etc

yep, 54 staying lean eating 8k cals, nope, he is not burning that many cals with his training, i do a full body workout twice a week, cycle 50 miles twice a week, and often will have a hike as well with weighted pack and i am no where near 8k cals a day, that food listed in the article does not look or sound like 8k cals but maybe has a couple sticks of butter in those trays, lol,
 
He is so full of shit. He claims to be a ripped 205 pounds. More like 180 at 6'2". He also is not eating that many calories. He be on the toilet 3 times a day. I weighed 265 when I was eating 7K a day. Unless he does marathons or marathon like workouts, I call it complete bullshit. Here is a recent picture of his role as Wolverine. You decide. I just don't think he knows and is parroting what the current trainer told him. And it was probably something like, "we may even have to take you up to 8k calories on some days".
 
I think it’s very common in general, most people haven’t really done extensive macro/calorie tracking to realize what’s in the food they are eating. People wanting to gain overestimate their calories and most overweight people underestimate or omit information. I recall a study where they literally just paid people to accurately report their what they ate and they still weren’t accurate.

Yea man, I mean, he’s tiny by bodybuilding standards, obviously. But he’s a freak athlete and one of the best BJJ guys to ever compete in the sport, he’s beaten legends.. And he’s been on Rogan’s podcasts and many others and all he eats is Pizza, Pasta and Açaí bowls lol 😂.. He posts the foods he eats all the time and it just makes you think WTF?! I’d feel so sluggish and shitty only eating that, regardless of activity level, but some people just have it in them..

And I can see where the metabolism thing comes in, I think the person’s body who eats more and burns more is just running optimally. Of course other things come into play but we’re assuming activity level is the same etc..

If you told me he’s 6’2 205lbs in the pic, that’s very believable. I don’t think 205 is super out of the question here and he is lean as fuck, not shredded by BB competition standards but he is lean as fuck..

It’s funny the different points of views from different sports; you’re saying he looks under weight by 20lbs and I think it’s perfectly reasonable

On the other hand, I’ve met a couple UFC fighters in my life, and I think that UFC scale is fucking broken lmao 🤣

I met Vitor Belfort years ago, when he was still “TRT Vitor”, I was like “There’s no fucking way you make 185lbs… EVER.” He started laughing… The guy was walking around at least 240lbs jacked and ripped with garden hose veins everywhere..

I just think it’s hard to judge a person’s true size unless you see them in person

Nailed it, man. I’m 5’ 11” 215 iirc in the picture right here. No doubt Jackman is 205 or so in his shot.

To your point, I look huge in person standing next to “normal” people, but I look like I barely train next to photos of y’all on here.

Depends how tall and if he has legs. That's a pretty common leanness and muscularity for serious judoka that compete at 5'8" to 5'10" 86 kg, which is 189 lbs.
