Saw the movie the other day. It was by far one of the best movies I have seen in a while....Not to mention it brought back some childhood memories.

i guess I am the only one who thinks its sucked. I am a fan of the cartoon from the 80's as i am 28 years old and was a kid back in the 80's. i thought from a graphics standpoint the movie was awesome but from a hardcore fan standpoint it sucked.

Let me point out my reasons I think it didnt stay true to the cartoon.

1) 3/4 of the movie is tyrese and fergie's boytoy running around screaming " we're under attack, what are these things"

2) bumblebee is a camaro. In the cartoon he is a VW bug. And he speaks through radio channels in the movie....I thought that was ridiculous.

3) megatron doesnt show up until the movie is 3/4 done and has only one battle with optimus prime which lasts all of about 10 minutes.

4) the decepticons talk in some kind radio language and you need subtitles... stupid. I never got to hear starcreams high pitched voice from the cartoon like I was hoping for.

5) megatron transforms into some type of airplane...in the cartoon he was a gun. There again dissapointing.

6) Jazz was a fucking pontiac... in the cartoon he was a porsche. Again not true to the cartoon.

7) there was only 1 major battle at the end between megatron and prime. not enough battle. too mucch human acting not enough transformers.

I could go on and on. I thought the story could have been better. The had devistator as a single robot when in fact he was the gigantic robot formed by the constructicons..

It was okay but not to me as awesome as I would have liked. I also would have like them to resemble more of the cartoon. Megatron looked like a gigantic rock. Only prime looked liek the cartoon. very sad for me.

There is serious discussion going on that this is only part I of III.. hence the reason there is so little robot and so much human plot lines. If they had wall to wall robot battles they would have a hard time making parts II and III better than I....

Not a far fetched rumor. There is definatley more money to be made. I remember transformers as a kid but not well. I thought the movie was outstanding. It had a very high "cool" factor. It was definately cheesy. But sometimes......

Megatron did transform into a gun briefly in the movie but not like the one in the cartoons. It was like putting both his "arms" together. He shot O.P. itno the side of a building to land on his back.

The mysterious teaser trailer playing with Transformers this weekend touts Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams' upcoming SF project, an as-yet-untitled movie code-named Cloverfield, and a viral Web promotion has also begun.

Two new viral Web sites have gone live, Ethan Haas Was Right and Ethan Haas Was Wrong, with puzzles somehow related to the movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the entire project has moved forward under a cloak of secrecy. Abrams is producing the film, which is being directed by Matt Reeves, who co-created Abrams' Felicity, and it's written by Drew Goddard, who has worked with Abrams on Lost and Alias.

To cast the film, no scripts or even scene pages were sent out; agents who were contacted were simply asked if their client wanted to be in the movie or not. The cast includes Michael Stahl-David (The Black Donnellys), Odet Jasmin, Mike Vogel (Supercross) and Lizzy Kaplan (The Class). The movie is slated to open Jan. 18, 2008.

Saw the movie today, it was OK. Good effects and sound.
I don't mind the movie not being very true to the cartoon, but at least have some story to tell. If it wasn't on a huge screen and surround sound I'd probably be very bored and fall asleep.

I saw it yesterday, pretty dissappointed. Too long and I agree with the above points. It was a bit boring in parts. The Aussie girl in the pumps was by far the highlight, damn my test levels went through the roof. I also have a dildo for my Mrs exactly the same. I showed her the pic. On the July 4th I saw the new Die Hard and then Transformers. Die Hard was so damn awsome and Transformed sucked so damn HARD!!! Wasted 2.5hrs of my life I want back. Go see Die Hard if you haven't.
