Is an 18" Arm Big ?
I was working arms this morning and my arms looked huge in the mirror so I went and got my wifes sewing tape and mearured them (I have never done this) and the left was 18 1/4" the Right 18" sounds big but they don't look big in street clothes. What are the rest of you guys streching the tape to Pumped?

19 1/4" pumped and still growing. I have been gear free for 2 1/2 + years. If I ever get back on, I am shooting for a soft 20". Pumped?

Big Arms
I believe 18 is the minimum to be considered big.
So yes 18 is big

It's pretty much a relative thing. If you have 18" guns and your 300 lbs they tend to look a little puny but a 200 lb guy with 18's looks huge. I beleive that imeasurements should be part of a total package or their significance gets lost. I have seen too many guys who forget that they have legs because they are so worried about their arms. I know this doesn't apply to you Rocket as I am familiar with you from other boards. By the way I gotta give props to you for being involded in this sport at your level of "maturity" I'm not sure if you post your age everywhere but I'm always impressed by guys like yourself and hope I'll be as dedicated to bettering my body at a more mature age. By the way, I've seen pics of you and your arms do look big on you so I don't think you have anything to worry about. Keep up the good work bro. Peace.

It is fairly relative to your weight and height. When I started lifting in May last year, my arms were in the 15"-16" range. Before I started my current cycle, my right arm was 16 3/4" and my left arm was 16 3/8".
Two weeks into my cycle when the water retention started coming on, my right arm shot up to 17 3/4" and my left 17 1/4". I'm about a week away from the end of this cycle and anxious to see what the resulting measurements will be. I'll keep you guys posted.
Oh, incidentally, I'm 5'10" and around 230lbs.

I definitely believe an 18 inch arm is indeed a rather large
arm however, as has been well said overall perception will be
determined primarily by weight as well as height and bone
structure. At 5'5" and 195lbs my arms top out around 17 3/4"
and I only work them about 2-3 times per month. The funny
thing is most peoples perception of my arm size is that they
are much bigger.W

It is all relative. Plus it depends ont he shape of the arm and the leanness of it.
My arms always look small, because they are naturally not peaked and I have very large shoulders, evn though they measur eover 20".
My friend, only has 18" at 220lbs, but he has the most beautiful peaks and shape, both to his tris and bis, so they look huge, especially because he has narrow shoulders as well.

Like many have stated it's all "relative." I have seen cut/lean 18"ers that look huge compared to "fat/uncut" 20"ers.
Again - it depends on how tall/big you are. But; a "cut" 18" is the big milestone for most! Now take me for example - 5'6", small boned (6-1/2" wrist), Asian heritage. At 190#, 8.5% BF, arms measure 17" and look relatively large but it's all "tris." My bis are disproportionately small, so to me, they don't look large.
A little Syntherol mixed with some gear should get those bis in line for my next cycle (shooting for 18.5-19"!). Just hoping everything gets here by middle of this month. Else, I just wait until it does

I also belive it has alot to do with shape. My arms are 18.5 but don't look that big to me when their at my sides. The reason is my tri's suck but when I hit a double bi they look pretty deicent. This partialy could be in my head and alot of my freinds do think my arms look big. Also once I seen Flex Wheeler, Ronnie Coleman, and Nasser El Sobanty in person my idea of a big arm was changed forever. By the way I now believe 20'' to be the magic number.
