Arsenic in chicken, and the FDA says it is OK to eat!

I read an article about arsenic being added to chicken feed to keep the birds from getting sick because they have 1000's of birds all couped together. This made me think about the cheap ass chicken breast i eat everyday 2-3 times a day. They are actually finding arsenic in the chicken meat. They say it is a small enough amount that it wont bother most people unless they are heavy chicken eaters!!!!

I could afford grass fed beef and free range chicken eggs because I dont eat that multiple times a day, but I am not sure I could afford to buy organic natural fed chicken breast. I spend a lot of money on the cheap breasts I currently buy. I would have to go from $2 a pound to $7 a pound to get the organic chicken!!!

Anyone else eat organic chicken?

The shitty part is the FDA still has not banned the use of the feed additive Roxarsone!

The grammar Nazi in me cringes at the title of this thread, but I have heard from an IFBB pro that he has found better results from eating organic chicken himself. There's a lot more nutrition added in general with the range, grass-fed chicken, but I'm in the same boat as you. *Regular* chicken costs $6/pound around here...

LOL! Is the title better now? I rambled something awful in that post, huh?

Food Inc - watch it and you will pay more for grass fed and free range chicken...

What was the title?

When I eat raw eggs I always buy organic.
I believe 1 in 20,000 regular eggs have salmonella
and 1 in 50,000 organic have it

Grass feed anything is better than the other bullshit
it just cost more.

Besides they give all those animals hormones and no
way am I taking a chance getting those things in
my body :D

When I start my new job, I can hopefully switch to organic chicken breast and freshly caught salmon. Everything else in my diet is bang on. I don't eat beef anymore, maybe once every 2 weeks. I would like to also start eating grass fed beef 1-2X per week. It's all a question of money, but I'll get there.

I'm kind of lucky in that my inlaws own a pretty good sized farm in the mountains in my area. I get grass fed beef, free range chickens, and fresh eggs on a regular basis.

The money that I contribute for livestock more than pays for itself once you have everything up and going.

I hope/plan to retire there someday!!
