I have been away sence 5/1/2003 I had to have my knee replaced. Dr.said no hevy sqauts. He said I can do leg extentions, and leg press. So I am back in the GYM. In november I have to have the left leg done. To all those here from the old Renagade Just wanted to Waaasssup.

Are you sure he said leg extentions - for knee replacement - seems problematic to me!

Yeah, that doesn't seem right. You should probably try to avoid lifts like that actually. Anything that requires a forceful contraction of either the quads or the hams without cocontraction of the antagonist muscle group. That'll put all kinds of stress on the knee.

You could certainly do straight leg raises including where you put an ankle cuff (cable machine) on and move your leg in a straight leg kicking motion. This would work the quad without stressing the knee.

Sounds old school, the squat puts less stress on the knee if performed properly that does the leg extension.

I have no intention of doing any hevey leg extentions. I will just have take it slow and easy. I can still train my uper body hard. I am still working on getting range of motion back in my knee. So far it is comming along good.
