Hey Bro,
I have embarked upon my Pro Wrestling Journey. It has been 9 long hard months so far. I have been training and working for a local small Indy Company here in Chicago. I am officially a "worker."
We train 5 days a week. I remember my first training sessions like yesterday. Running the ropes for what seemed like hours. Learning to back bump, face bump, front flip bump, hand stand bump and "ninja" rolls; left and right side.
The first afternoon of training I went home with bruises on my back from the ropes; got so bad after awhile, I had to run the ropes old school way; from the side. Sore neck, sore shoulders etc. I soaked in an Epsom salt bath for about an hour. Got my ass fired up and did it again next day.
I am the bump master now. I can bump better than Ric Flair I tell ya!! Learned how to chain wrestler; dam seems like I am a master of a thousand holds now. It's all a dance; each and everytime. It's a dance is repeated a thousands time to me. Hell, I am Fred Astaire and Mc Hammer in the ring now.
I learned psychology, and of course I am still learning it. The true art of Professional Wrestling. I know how to tell a story in the ring and not just turn a match into a "Spot" fest. Hip tosses, arm drags, drop kicks, I got em. Can give and take. Learned how to punch, kick and upper cut properly.
I developed my "character." I go by the name of Tim Holmes aka Harlem Hammer. It is a work in progress. Let me tell you this, my debut was incredible. It was in a "Royal Rumble." I had my gear: Black trunks with two hammers crossed sewn on the back, Black patent leather boots with whites soles, I wore knee pads and wrist bands, one black, one white. I had my music selection; Jamee Fox: "I don't need it." I was ready bro. I was the 14th person to come out. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, BOOM!!!!! Music!! I was all on pumped up, oiled up.....I hit the curtain, all eyes were on me..CROWD POPPED!!! I came out clapping to the beat everybody joined in bro. I gave out a few high fives. I got to the front of the ring and started hitting poses..yea, I know Luger style, but it worked. I was over like a mofo!! The best feeling ever I tell ya. I am an official "worker."
My next true debut was a month later. I was not suppose to be in the ring yet one on one, but due to the fact the a coupe of guys never come to training or pay their dues, the boss asked my trainer if I was ready. The response was "hell yea he is ready." I was to fight for my first match one on one with the massacre himself "Punisher 747." He looks just like Abyss; one big cat!! His style: STRONG STYLE!!!! He was originally was to wrestle in a 2 on 1 handicap match against 2 smaller cats. It was to be squash. Of course since I have the "LOOK" there would be no squashing of me. It would not be believable.
The boss said "just give me a good 6 minutes." Dam right I was give him that and more. Well, game day came around and I was nervous, yet fired up. I changed my music to Soulja Boys "Turn it up." I knew that would work because we were wrestling at a High School. A charity event to raise money for Haiti....to be continued.
