I ran across this and was curious to hear if you guys have any of the same experiences with this type of protocol.

What? Fish oil? That is not cool, avant-garde, sexy, or exotic. Fish oil?

Yes. Fish oil. You cannot be anabolic with enough Omega 3s. For example, I was once training a first-round pick for the NFL. He put on 29 lbs of lean body mass in one month once I jacked his fish oil intake to 45 grams a day. If you want to put muscle on and lose fat, take at least 30 grams of fish oil a day.

Additional reasons for using fish oil include:

It reduces inflammation.
It improves insulin sensitivity: makes glucose and amino acids get better in your starved muscle cells.

Taking fish oil in a liquid form is the most economical way of doing it. But taking them every meal works best. I always recommend a combination of liquid and capsules - Liquid for home meals, and capsules for away from home meals.

I do also remember Phil saying all fish oils aren't created equally. Free radical damage is something to be congnizant of.

too much fish oil though, you will have blood clotting problems, so if you cut yourself, its gonna be a gusher!

I know Palumbo is a proponent of high amounts of efa's in one's diet. Also the amount of vit E would be extremely high as well.

With all the high RBC and thick blood people around here, this shouldn't be too much of a problem :D

hOLY CRAP, NOW i CAN JUST PUT FISH OIL IN WITH TEST SHOTS!!!! j/k!:D

Thats a bit extreme, fish oils aren't part of his supplement line by any chance?!?!:)

High dosing fishoils is dangerous in that they thin the blood. A case of too much of a good thing.......

There are other potential problems as well. Problems with the inflammatory response, psychiatric disturbances, heart palpitations, etc.

All things in moderation.

Wow, never heard of such a thing. I take 1000mg cap a day. How much you guys take?

Jig

I seen fish oils come in gel caps but do they come in a liquid that you would take like a shot?

i mega-dose on fish oils occasionally, never had any problems, and if u r worried about thich blood from high RBC counts, fish oil will then your blood like aspirin without the side effects like GI bleeding

Bingo! fish oil and bromelain to help thin the blood after those Test/Eq cycles ;) ...not to mention the other health benefits

How would you take 45 grams per day? That seems hard to do and not crap out oil.

I have been taking 8 grams per day and my last bowel movement had oil in the toilet. I can only imagine taking 5-6 times that amount.

I guess spaced all throughout the day and taken with meals but still that is a hell of a lot of fish oil....I may just have to try it :)

I believe Charles P. advocated high dose fishoil to figure competitors for favorable fat loss and not focusing on hypertrophy etc... I did very high dose fishoil and omega-9 dosing and within 1 week I Looked HORRIBLE. Flat, no pump, dminished vascularity, just terrible cosmetic effect due to the inhibition to prostaglandins and other important growth factors needed for muscle growth. I soon dropped the omega-3 and omega-9's and added back red meat and eggs....VOILA! full, hard and leaner looking again. Translation = Be overall healthy and suppress inflammation, or have impressive muscles and growth, but lack longevity.......kind of a crap shoot.

Udo's oil

For the guys that haven't used it yet, i suggest you give it a try.

I take 6-8grams of fish oil daily with 1gram of krill oil and 3grams of evening primrose oil.

What Claymore said!

Udo's is fantastic. Cold pressed seed oils giving all the benefits of fish oil minus the methyl mercury.

Mercury is one of the most poisonous substances to the human body and with a methyl group attached it is exponentially more toxic.
