among others, such as palumbo, i have read that you think weight needs to be maintained for a bit when finishing a cycle.

I read one one your threads in which you said 'i will maintain my weight for 4 weeks after finishing my cycle'

is this on top of pct or inclusive?

i dont know i you do pct or not, but would this 4 weeks 'weight maintrenance' be done during a 4 week pct ...or....finish cycle, 4 week pct, then maintain weight for a further 4 weeks, then cut?

I used to take 4 weeks between the time I ended my "bulk" and the time where I started to diet

It was due to the fact that I tended to lose muscle fast when I was going directly from bulk to cutting

I was also giving my body a 4 weeks break to have clean receptor

It worked well

Now I start my diet a little less hard and it also helped me to spare muscles so I dont do this 4 weeks anymore ... probably also cause I know my body much better now

Something also interesting is that when I bulk I work heavy and during diet I tend to be very very prone to joints problem, so those 4 weeks were good for my joints too :)

And I dont do PCT

ah ok, i see, you just finished your bulk cycle, took 4 weeks of then started a cutting cycle.


in that case, would you or anyone else reading this thread be able to give me some advice as far as the recommendations come for maintaining weight for a bit after a cycle

my position is differennt in that i will not be hopping onto a cutting cycle once my bulk is done. i will simply finish my bulk, do 4 weeks pct then think about cutting (without aas)
.....so what i was wondering is, would my 4 weeks pct count as 'time maintaining weight', or should i do a 4 week pct, then try and maintain my weight for a further 4 weeks, then start cutting

Theres a lot of empirical evidence that points to giving yourself AT LEAST two weeks of a maintenance caloric intake after a diet (either bulk or cut) to allow hormones to stabilize and just give you a pyschological break.

Lyle McDonald's books do a good job of providing the science behind that.

do that and you will look like you never did a bulking cycle in the first place. you can barely maintain some of your muscle you gained while "on" 5-6 weeks after your cycle ended (especially on low doses) while eating above maintenance calories. what do you think will happen when going through a caloric deficit, training hard and heavy, and test production is 0?

not too short of pro? the guy could easily place top 5 in some of the pro shows i've seen if he nails condition.

It's really tough to maintain muscles once you stop products

human body is looking for homeostasis and first thing to be burnt will be muscles, your test levels even if back to normal won't be enough to maintain muscles

you can cut without roids for sure, but I wouldn't cause it's too much risk to lose muscles

if you want some time off, then just do your 4 weeks off between the bulk and the cut, while doing your pct and keeping a maintainance calories intake

i understand what you are saying. does this still apply if you are not yet at your 'natural max weight'.
i dont do cutting cycles,i only done my 1st cycle last year, and i am going to do one more in a few months time, then im done.
my cut wont be drastic, as i never go over 12% tops, so just clean up my diet and add some cardio etc.

and yeah you do look like a pro...YOU GET SOME GLASSES
