So, this guy at the vitamen store today told me that milk is absolutely worthless. This sucks b/c im bulking now and drink a few glasses daily with certain meals. He basically told me that im not gonna digest any of the protien and I need to drink goats milk or rice milk b/c they are better protien sources and you absorb them. Is this true?
Some people have problems digesting the milk because of the lactose. Milk is a good source of protein, (cheap too). I use to go up to a gallon a day. Now I don't know if goats milk is of higher quality, but to say cow's milk is worthless is just wrong in my opinion.
When trying to gain weight and bulk it has always been a staple in my diet and I am sure many others will agree with this. I really like raw milk as well, but it is a bit costly.
I would say continue pounding down the milk if it agrees with you...
if you couldnt diest milk, that would make whey and casein proteins worthless. Micellar casein IMO is one of the best protein sources. what is milk anyways? Protein, fat, lactose and another sugar, and immunoglobins, and other hormones.
Been drinking milk by the gallon since I was a kid, Mom used to tell me she needed a cow around, 43 now and still drinking it like I have a cow in the house, I'm 6'6" and 290, and nobody else in my family is tall, Mom is 5'5" and Dad is 6ft and I was the only one in the family to pound it down, maybe the mailmans kid or something..LOL
Yes it is true that cow milk was never meant to be consumed of us humans. thats why you have so many people thgat are lactose intolerant. and some get really bad food allergies from cow milk.
But of course over a period of time humans have become accustom to milk. their bodies for some made it a way to digest the protiens by developing certain enzymes.
Goat milk mimcs a human mothers milk and can be use by humans. and most have no problem digestingf it. its a little more expensive. but hey the government sure knows how to market cow milk over goats milk because their is more finacial gain there. so u see their are a lot of things we have been tricked to believe. but the fact is we are all developing so many different health problems every year.
I also dont think drinking a gallon of milk a day is healthy for anyone. inless you want high colesterol. do yourself a favor and try goats milk for a month a see what you think.
i fail to see how humans cannot digest milk lol. i mean if we can eat the freakin cow and digest that, why the hell can we not digest the milk that comes out of the cow? i drink a gallon about every day and i'm 5 foot 11 and 315 pounds, and i know that's not from drinkin water all day long. if you guys cant digest it, then don't drink it, me however, can digest it like nothin so i'll keep slammin it down lol can't go wrong with a bunch of peanut butter and 2 big glasses of whole milk haha

based on what supported/documented information? I love how some people that work at these supp stores really think they have a broad level of knowledge of supplementation, diet, and training. I truly think these supp store owners need to rethink the message they are sending. You want people with knowledge and experience better open up that wallet. People like AWN2004 have a ton of info and are highly knowledgable about all these levels of fitness. And coincidently also involved in BBing?
The milk at the store is not like the milk you get from the cow in the first place. First they take everything out of it and then try and put everything back into it, when they process it. IMO milk is garbage. I blame milk for making me lactose intolerant, now going on 1.5yrs.
