Music threat

My gym playlist is roughly:
Slayer
Metallica
Slipknot
Pantera
Rammstein
Lindemann
Disturbed
Korn
Rob Zombie
Nine inch nails
Rage against the machine
Slapshot
Misfits
Samhain
Danzig
Breaking Benjamin
Creed
System of a Down
Static X
Soundgarden
Ministry

When I was a teen I used to go into Boston every Sunday and see three bands for $5 at TT the Bears. Broke my nose many times, and cleared many a pit in my day. So much fun!

Man, this now reminds me of my hardcore straight edge punk days in the 80s. I was SO deep into that scene. Loved it. Best people, great music, great times.

Before I really got into bodybuilding I was all about hardcore music, which I learned about after getting into speed metal. Was close with Boston bands like Jerry's Kids and Slapshot. We created the HC straight edge scene.

I had my Misfits phase (still my all time favorite band) when I romped around Boston looking like Danzig with a huge blue-black devillock. Then I went full-bore SXE skinhead for a couple years until the Nazi skins ruined the scene and we got tired of beating them up at the shows every weekend.

Still have probably 10 pairs of DMs. Cherry 20-eye steels included. Two MA-1 flight jackets as well, one is the black Apollo mission version, which I love.

No Judas Priest!? Megadeth is good too. I like most of your list. Music was great back in the 80s and 90s.

Oh, I was / am a fan of both, just not on the gym playlist :D

You ever watched the movie Suburbia?

"I hate buses...."

I'd highly recommend "Another State of Mind" as well.
The film chronicled some great bands like Minor Threat, Youth Brigade, and Social Distortion.

Yes. I remember taping that off of USA late at night circa 1986 or so.
Punk was big in Southern California around that time. That and Jamaican/UK ska..
Suicidals were HUGE!!

"All I wanted was a pepsi....!!!!"

At the moment I am training at home due to lockdown and I usually put on something like Disturbed when training. I also love Hans Zimmer (Batman trilogy etc). I just stick you-tube on most of the time. The other day I listened to this which is quite good when turned up...

This is a punk documentary on the other end of the spectrum.

That looks like a lot of fun, I need to check it out.
One of the more prominent guys on the Boston scene in my day I still keep in touch on Social Media.
He has a happy family and is a Minister now. Some others however really never grew up :p

Les Claypool and Buckethead are good friends and play together a lot. This is a good short clip.

Buckethead with another buddy, Bootsy Collins from the band Parliament. Ive seen them together 2x. Bootsy just shows up, not announced. This is some serious funk!
