Thanks man, I <3 Deadlifts

I'm in a love affair with the conventional deadlift

I actually set myself a bit of a ambitious goal, but one that I do think is possible...

My goal is to Conventional Deadlift 6plates by the end of the year (585lbs) for 8 reps of course...

December 31st 2011, 585lb x 8 reps, I'm coming for you!

My next deadlift day, October 5, I'll be pulling 455 for 8 reps (goal).
I just hope to tag on an extra +20lbs each deadlift day (every 2 weeks). I will not let reps get lower than 5, so if I make a drop in reps to 5 I will do that same weight again til I get at least 8.

Wish me luck!



btw. I will video log that entire journey to 585 x8 deadlift.
I will do a video everytime I get another full plate or a 25 extra on the bar. I figure a 10lb plate extra isn't impressive enough for a vid....

Take care of your back, of you get great pump, concentrate the groups.... and pull right i believe you shouldnt push your self to failure on an excercise such as that unless ytou are trying to be a strongman competitor, id hate to see/hear something go wrong with you after such an inspirational progression
 
Ohh I do :)

deadlift is the only thing I am brave enough to mess with because I already popped my l4/l5 disc a few years back.

I just made a second log just for my deadlift journey. I am very anile about my form and safety. I spend a lot of time warming up to make sure everything is up to par, and days that just don't feel right I take it easy.

Not bad for 5' 10.5" I don't think. I'm just gonna keep lifting heavy stuff and eating tons of food and maybe one day I'll beat down 250lbs door!
I think 2012 is the year that people will quit saying I look bigger than average/ pro baseball player size, and start saying I look pretty dam big, bodybuilder size ;)

Legs

A few years ago I never would take pics of my legs. Ended up being because they pretty much didn't exist. Were just a couple of sticks

arms have crept up a full 1/4" since 215lbs also, now a owner of 17.5" right arm and 17" left arm. Next number to work on is 18"...

i always notice that my arms and just my whole pyhsique in general become much fuller when i go back to a routine where i deadlift a lot

thats a great feeling to know your getting swole on. You might have to get some XXL shirts
 
Well I'm not to XXL yet.... I wish!

I am just finally filling out the Large shirts :p

Side note here is 5 months of hammertime!

I'd say its safe to say that deadlift and squatting will add size to the waist as well, luckly they also add a ton of size to everything :)

Waist on left was 32", Waist on the right is 34.5"

New shirts.

Well Louzee and I went shopping.
Shirt sizes are now XL and XXL =)

XL for Walmart/Target type shirts, and XXL for Guess shirts.

I just noticed that I have been going to bed at 230lbs and waking up at 225lbs for the last 3 days now.

been making some nice improvements in the gym as of lately.

Standing BB Curl 135x 6, 115x12, 95x20 today.
Arms are creeping up on that 18" mark, gotta solidify 17.75" first but its coming...

the lighting in the pics from this morning has me blanded out. Sun was up...

These are alot better, also note these are after putting 6 solid meals and 2 shakes down my gut. This is about as big and bloated as I come during the day.
