Nebivolol to lower RHR

# Note

Issues with water retention may not be resolved with any antihypertensives except diuretics. Where water retention is concerned, a thiazide-like diuretic like **Chlortalidone (Chlorthalidone)** can be used. Chlorthalidone also has novel mechanism that sets it apart from other diuretics. A write up will be done on Chlortalidone soon to illustrate how important this particular diuretic is to anabolic steroid users - it will literally reverse LVH and reduce left ventricular mass. Chlortalidone alone will normalise blood pressure to perfect levels for those who have hypertension due to water retention.

Sort of OT:

Anyone using this stuff? Per the limited research I did, it “may” be kidney friendly. I am supposed to be on a diuretic (HCTZ) alongside my 40 mg Telmisartan but didn’t want to use it long term due to potential adverse kidney issues. I am on an herbal with a safe kidney profile, just not sure if it’s “enough”.

Thanks in advance.

“The persistent reduction in the degree of albuminuria with the use of chlorthalidone suggests that the drug has the potential to provide cardiovascular and kidney protection in patients with chronic kidney disease.”

Just a random on Nebivolol.

Was researching Nebivolol for another reason and ended up going down some rabbit hole and read quite a bit of very cool studies on CKD patients or elderly patients with lower GFR’s and Nebivolol shined pretty well here.

This stuff is not only renal protective effectively attenuating damage during kidney-stressful situations but can mildly reverse some damage a bit as well.

Great to know as my C-Statin is just mehhh. Could be better.

x2

2.5mg is all I need. Maybe I’m a hyper-responder. No idea.

Lowered my RHR from 95-ish to 70-75 (60-65 upon waking).

Zero discernible sides.

Very impressive med IMHO.
💯 even 2.5 is crazy strong for me!

It's still weird to me this dude disappeared. Like my man...it's just a bodybuilding forum...you don't have to disappear. Sounds like this dude has a lot going on between the ears and may not be best for him to hop on and off random drugs.

Just ordered some nebi to add to my stack.

I’ve always had a high RHR, got an echo, and even an MRI of my heart. My cardiologist wasn’t too bothered by it.

Starting at 2.5 to get it down a bit and for its other benefits.

I started Nebivolol at 2.5 last night and I swear it made a difference in lowering my HR overnight sleeping and while working out today.

Or maybe it’s placebo and I’m crazy.

It absolutely can work that fast. I wear my Apple Watch when I sleep so I can see exactly how low my hr gets each night

Amazing if it’s true especially at only 2.5mg.
It takes Nebilivol 30-120 minutes to reach peak plasma levels. It absolutely can work that fast.

I did some cardiac testing last year and needed to get my HR down. I popped a few tabs the morning of and it worked like a charm.

You currently take yours before bed also?

I did when I used it. I personally don’t take it anymore and switched to Ivabradine. It’s all in my AMA thread.

Can confirm the rapidity of action. I actually moved from taking it soon before bed to more like late afternoon, though. I felt like there was some drowsiness hangover in the early morning when I train. Garmin watch confirms a major drop in overnight HR, but I can still get HR up around 7-8am.

Same as me, deff works best that way also it truly works fast.

Can you explain the difference if you don't mind.

What @nothuman said. They work on different pathways. And nebilivol also works to lower blood pressure in layman’s terms.

Both will improve endothelial function.

Beta blockers also impact the beta androgen pathway so could potentially make one feel tired or lose some strength in the gym.

It comes down to which you tolerate best and why you’re using it. For me I have excellent BP, don’t do well with beta blockers so Ivabradine is perfect.

If someone has elevated BP and RHR then Nebilivol is a great choice if it’s well tolerated.

That's some great info, on my latest push and especially after i added HGH i had some rhr increase which i wanted to deal with. Not too high, it was high 70s low 80s.

My bp though is always very low even on 1gr injectables + anadrol, like 105/52.

I tried nebivolol to get rhr in low 60s like it was before but the only thing it did was lowering even further my diastolic into 40s while my rhr didn't moved at all. I dropped it after 5-6 days days.

I'll look up for ivabradine the next time I'll need to deal with RHR only, time to do some research.
