Now for who I do like as a future pro. Mark Dugdale, Marcus Haley, Chris Cook, Tom Tognietti, Jon Van Ashe, Rusty Jeffers, Abbass Khatami, Brian Chamberlain. I think the guy who won the NAC is Brian Chamberlain. He has a complete, thick physique. This is a guy who will make money as a pro. Being a pro and being a pro is 2 different things. If you were putting on a BBing show, who are you going to pay 4,000 dollars to guest pose? Just because a guy is a pro doesnt guarantee he or she will make money My point is, if you turn pro just to turn pro with out the "goods", it is all for naught. THats all I am warning these guys about. It does not get you free gym memberships, better looking girls, free meals, etc...

Regarding Zona,I think he has a contract with muscletech?I think I saw him in an ad.Don't know what that pays though.

just want to say thanx for your words of wisdom. You bring a nice word of reality and a big piece of humble pie to this board. BBing is a part of life not a life. Its a fun activity and challenging but it is just a part of life that is not as nearly as important as your friends, family, work. These things are what life is about.

phil just wanted to see what ure thought were on Bill Wilmore, he took 2nd to matt duvalle at nationals last nov. some say he should of won...i know he competing again at Nationals. i expect him to do very well.just wanted to see if u know of him

I have heard of him. I dont remember his shape and balance though. Hey, 2nd at the Nationals to Duvall is pretty dam impressive though!

Is perception reality?

...Do you feel that a lot of it is "perception"? People perceive that if you're in a magazine that you're bed sheets are made with gold thread and you're driving a tricked out Hummer.

You look at Cutler and he's making his money in Real Estate. Yes he has some contracts, but his food bill alone is $50K each year. Not to mention gear, a house, a car, and family...

There's a local clothing company here that landed Gunter and signed him to a clothing contract I don't know the details of the deal, but I do know that Weider slops his trough with roughly $7K monthly.

VERY FEW make it. It's an attractive hobby, but can't be counted on to feed the pups in all cases.

I like Dugdale's physique as well as Cook's

yes i said in other post that maybe 3% of the athletes make money the other 97% break even if they are lucky or like most hang in there 2 to 6 years a disapear from not making a living so sad

Hmm..lots of problems with some of the NY guys who run together thinking they are better then really are...Let the public decide if you are good as you think you are...you may be surprised that you are not all that you think...compared to the average guy you look great and perhaps at local shows you are something else but in the real world of BB you are one of many not one of a kind....very very very very few are one of a kind..you Do and WILL get lost in the shuffle..face the facts guys ..reality check...grow up and be real..AHH...GET REAL !!!

I remember back in the day I asked Phil about my "potential" and he said "Dante I really dont know much about figure skating, Im sorry"....but when I clarified it to him I meant "bodybuilding" he said these words that stuck with me "With 75lbs more muscle mass, 60lbs less bodyfat, 55k in plastic surgery on your face to look less like a bus hit it, I can forsee you Dante not only taking the best gyno award and the Tim Belknap "aesthetically pleasing physique" award but you have the upside potential to place 17th out of 4 competitors in your class"

I took those words and ran with it and still to this day-on saturdays I go down to the local figure skating rink and hit a couple most musculars to show those guys whose boss. Thanks Phil!
