perfect view of farms

I live in as country as you get.... stand on my porch and all I see is the mountains and a huge cow pasture... down the road all I have are more cow pastures and chicken houses... no gas station for 11 miles and grocery store for 15 miles....

WoW, view of the mountains....no mountains in louisiana but plenty of pine trees. My closest neighbor is a half mile away. I have to drive a half hour to get to the gym. Good thing is I could survive out here pretty easily if shit hit the fan....plenty of critters to eat....lol and I have a huge garden ;)

country for me, one stop light, i grocery store, and a diner......

Whats consider country. Someone from a big city will have a different view.

Country for me is the town with a truck stop/diner/gas station that has showers, a post office, and the local bar with pool table and serves pizza. Seen a lot of town like this when I went camping in NH, Vermont and Maine.

Then cafe had some of the best home made french toast ever with home made maple syrup and home fries.

You have to drive about 1hr to get to the closet largest town that has a Walmart and maybe a few other stores. Not many places to shop for cloths besides Walmart unless you hit a big outlet town like Burlington, and towns liek Manchester when I was up there.

I guess I could add Country is when your only source of power is a generator and propane tank and heat source are only wood stoves and fireplaces.

Down South if you need a fan boat to get through the swamps to go grocery shopping that would be country, but then again you could always go shoot you a possum and rattle snake for a good stew so maybe you wouldn't need one. I 'm not making fun of country folks if someone take sit that way. May father use to make some squirrel stew as a kid.

Where I live I have 3 malls, 4 gyms and 5 different grocery stores within a 15 min drive and 15 different pizza place s to choose from in town.

now we do have the truck stop with the showers, when you get back into town... I drive 30 minutes to my gym, even though there are two small ones in opposite direction of me 15 minutes away...
and as I once told my ex wife who is a yankee from cleveland, ohio... never make fun of people from the south, especially not after some things I seen, when we visited her family... they have some redneck (white trash) up past the mason dixon line...

There is a small farm across from my neighborhood and a larger one next to it... I help them bail hay over the summer, I think I fit squarely in the rural category.

bailing hay and cutting wood all summer a few years was no joke. I use to do it for my grandfather who lived somewhat on the country lines and for the farmers who use to let us hunt on their land. I can see how them farm boys are super strong. There lifting all day. I know i got strong as heck doing that work for a few months a year.

Hailing hay up in he loft just suck though. Especially in the summer. Had to be 110 up in there and all that dust when you blew your nose, nothing but black sludge would come out.

I thought I had it bad growing up on 5 acres, 10 minutes from the store, 15 minutes from the suburbs/city. Now I'm a suburbanite. I don't know about hunting squirrels and rattlesnakes, the closest thing to that where I live are occasional unleashed dogs a few friendly house cats. I don't think I would eat them if it came down to it. I'd rather eat my neighbors... they're bastards.

I live in a small town, some what country in good ole Pennsylvania. We have lots of mountains here. I am in a developed area with a farm next to me. Most of this area was all farmland at one time. Might be heading south, job related, to North Carolina. I'd hate to leave but it kinda looks as though I might have to.

I would like all that, sounds like you have been blessed. Peice and quite.

DAMN

No kidding man that's about as country as it gets, I have lived in areas that were pretty damn country but not that much, where I live now is better for me though cuz it's somewhat country as in peaceful and very quiet with almost no crime and the view of the sun coming up from my front porch while i'm on the stairstepper in the morn is really nice, but it's only a 15 minute drive to the gym or the mall, I don't really like being to far out in the woods anymore. i can still start my Harley and blast the Motley Crue if i want but i don't have to drive so damn far to get something.

country..... 1 stop sign on my road, then a 10 mile drive to the big town with 2 stop lights.

I'm in the the woods. It's a commute to everything.

well its hard for me

to answer this... im on the jersey shore.. an hour north is new york city.. about 45mins west is philly and a half hour south is atlantic city lol.. but on your way to any of the citys u drive through farms and huge empty land to get there.. i guess u can say its somewhat of a small town.. lots of hillbillys, lifted trucks and parkin lot hangin sippin wawa coffee's :D

id LOVE to own a house with some land and my neighbor a mile away... sounds so dam good to me
