I'm 42 been working out on and off since I was 18. Now that I'm way older, NOT looking to grace the cover of any mags.Just to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
My knees are always killing me, I know I need them to be scoped. So I dont use anything stronger than Deca or TesT 1.5 cc every 10 days. Just so I don't let gravity take control of my entire body.i always stay informed and pretty much educate myself on how to use and brew my own goods. Is this the best course of gear to use. I'm sure its not to stressful on the joints.
The way you train is what would potentially be stressful on the joints...
I am a bit younger but I also focus on health, strength (within reason), longevity, vitality, etc...
My protocol never includes deca anymore, personally the side effects are no good for me. I suppose I would CONSIDER it if my joints were worse...don't get me wrong, they are BAD but the use of gh and peptides for the past 5 months is really helping! Also, I don't train as heavy as I used to...NEVER squat over 365 lbs any more, NEVER bench over 315 lbs, NEVER deadlift over 315 lbs...etc.
I do 300mgs of test weekly (split into 2 shots Tues morn and Fri afternoon), with a little aromatase inhibitor (was on arimidex at .25mg EOD now switching to exemestane at 12.5mg ED), 1.5-2iu gh in the morning and gh peptides before bed. Keeps me lean, joints feel better than before, recovery is good and not on a TON of AAS. Honestly I feel about 6-8 years younger...strength is about what it was when I was 15 lbs heavier! I used to be 240-250 lbs and about 16-18% BF and STRONG now I am about 212 lbs 8-9% BF and still have about 90% of the strength I had!
Dosing every 10 days is not in my opinion optimal as your T levels rise and fall so much...I would say if you feel GOOD doing that at that dose, then split it to every 5th day take .75cc - more stable blood levels of test and fewer spikes in estrogen and DHT - and feel even better. Don't overdo the use of AI because if estrogen gets too LOW then joints will hurt from lowering water retention too much. Do you take HCG? I am assuming you are on TRT and stay on all the time now?
Also - totally OFF the drug subject...how do you train? I would NEVER have a client do leg extensions and also I don't recommend leg press. These 2 exercises destroyed my knees. Squats if performed effectively are the BEST leg exercise and are SAFE. Step ups...lunges...box jumps...I try to train with as MUCH functional movement as possible as that is how your body was designed to move loads.
Additionally, other factors contribute to knee pain. If they have been going on for YEARS then some damage is done, but IT band tightness and calf tightness lead to knee problems. The shoes you train in as well! Get new training shoes every 6 months if you train heavy and run a lot. Every year otherwise. Makes a difference. Also, a flatter shoe is better. A running shoe is NOT good to lift in. Another HUGE contributor to knee pain is the ratio of quad strength to hamstring strength...if your hams are too weak then knees will HURT. This is the primary reason I recommend training mainly in a functional fashion as strength will develop more proportionally than doing a bunch of machines for "isolation" purposes. As we are not competitive bodybuilders maximizing local hypertrophy is no longer #1 concern...train the body the way it was designed to move.
Hope there is something in there that helps in some fashion...
