OT How would you feel about this.

First off I have not experienced this I heard a story on the radio and it made me think of something that I would be curious of your opinions.
With the advent of mediums such as Facebook and Myspace it has never been easier to contact someone. My question is this if an old girl friend, boyfriend, ex husband, ex wife, etc... Contacted you

Would you tell your significant other?
Would your significant other be mad?
Would you be mad if the roles were reversed if one of the above contacted your significant other and you found out and they didn't tell you about it.
Finally any experiences with this?

For the sheer sake of loyalty, it'd be a good idea to tell your significant other in order to prevent any dishonesty or mental love-triangle from occurring with the whole situation. A smart and pre-emptive move to make sure everything in the relationship stays honest and out in the open.

Someone watched Dr. Phil today

In my situation, Facebook and Myspace have only brought unnecessary drama into a relationship. Me and my ex just ended a 3 year relationship a couple weeks back. I can't even begin to start on how many times I got into trouble over absolutely nothing. I'm not one to cheat, its not in my nature. But if one partner (in this case, my ex) has some major insecurity or trust issues, Facebook/Myspace is only going to be an outlet for those problems.

all my ex gfs are on my friends list and her ex husband is on hers....i think its the perfect way to keep in touch with people that you appreciate but would cause problems if it they got too close. i have ex gfs that are all unique cool people and i like to keep them as friends if possible.

I dont think it is necessary to tell her or him anything(at this time) if it was just a simple hello, how are you, hows the family type thing. That is nothing to be or get upset about. However, if the wife or husband never saw eye to eye or had a hard falling out with your significant other then I would say yes. Tell him or her that this other person contacted you and just said hello. This way everything is out in the open.


Samething happened to me. Young lady from many years ago found me and called my house. She simply wanted to know how I was getting on with life. She also knew my family, bother sister, mom and dad. So it wasn't a real freak out for my wife. I took it as a nice surprise. And my wife cause I was very up front with her thought nothing of it. It never happened again so life went on again.
