From everything Ive read about the set visits and director, they are taking this very seriously and trying very hard to make it "believable" like the iron man and hulk movies.

And for anyone that didnt know, this summer Thor AND Captain America movies are coming out (leading to an avengers movie crossover).. and green lantern
