as good as my upper body looks my lower body did not take on the same look and conditioning...i am not sure why but i welcome ideas and thoughts from you as well as anyone else...

You know my training methods so i am wondering why it worked on "half" my body..

It is because you do not squat.

I tried squating a few times over the years but with scoliosis ,2 slipped disc, 1 herniated disc and a bad L-3, L-4 disc i am unable to do anything useful with the squat that does not put my back health in jeopardy...I do leg press's and i know they are not the same..

I want to atleast have thighs like that dude in your gym i saw that day gettign ready for a show...

Do you have a plan B or do i accept this and keep moving forward? I will never do well at a show if i do not do to my legs what i did to my upper body..

i was thinking of prefatiguing my thighs then hit them with squats ..my legs will be toast but will not have to use heavy weights since my thighs will think 205lbs is 300lbs..thoughts?

While I don't have any of the problems you have other than lower back pain from Heavy back Squats...due to 2 partially compressed lower vertabrae according to my orthopedic doc....I do benefit greatly from doing leg presses first, going to back squats pre exhausted and fully warm.
My back will hurt a bit for 3-4 days after heavy squats if I exceed 500, so I rarely exceed 400-455.
Also have you tried Front Squats and or Hacks, also done after leg presses?
They have worked wonders in many that can't use heavy weights in Back Squats.

If your back is all jacked up then its better than nothing

cant work out at all when you're on bedrest for a month

Yea how about the Hack squat? Look for a guy on here Name Woody
and see if he cant shoot you some pointers....I remember he cant or doesnt squat either and his legs are Off the Charts. goodluck

Can't say I would be excited about that workout. I think I would stick to having smaller legs. :)

I never squat..... leg press....... lunges though I think are the way

As said its all genetics. I know many who never squat with great legs and then those who squat big weights with crappy quads.
Have you tried high rep training? You can do the same as the 20 rep squat routine on the leg press.

I got them

I have soem big legs just not a line in them...maniscus is shot in both knees from doing heavy press's and hacks back in the day....i used to leg press 20 45lb plates for 12-15 reps for 6-8 sets and do 8 45lb plates on the hack for 8-12 full deep reps...thus no knees anymore...

In my last show in 1997 my upper body kicked ass but my lower suffered since i cold not really train them without crippling myself for a week..

i may have to look into soem ideas or be reminded of soem old ideas i forgot about to train them and get soem lines...Press's are puttign size on them at 28in at 5ft 6in with 18 1/2 calves...well Phil can tell ya how far i have to go and where my calves rank in the world of bodybuilding at any level..

Do you remember Iam Harrison IFBB pro from England. He had serious knee trouble and he discoved his quads grew very well using high rep leg extensions to failure followed by leg press. If you do a search on Ian Harrison's training you should be able to find the article. I believe it was on anabolicextreme.com. I have knee trouble also and I can no longer squat heavy, but I have found that high rep pre-ex with leg ext/ sissy sqt prior to ass to grass squats has done wonders for my quads and actually helped my knee to feel much better. I do the following. Leg ext 20-30 reps to failure, 15 breaths, go again same wieght 10-15 reps, 15 breaths, go again same wt. 8-10 reps, 15 breaths, squats 8-15 reps to failure. OUCH!

Second, I'll bet your back situation could be improved with the proper rehab. There is a tool called the "Wobble Chair tm" that I have found to consistantly rehabilitate(re-inflate/re-hydrate) the lumbar spinal disks. Also you can use weights to align posture and decrease scoliosis. For more info go to www. pettibonsystem.com to see the wobble chair and body weights.

Bad knees

BBB...My knees are not that good any more,I no longer back squat..but do front squat on smith machine...I make sure to line my self up with my feet so I can keep my back straight...and pressure off the knees
