I'm regretfully not extremely knowledgeable on the WHY of how this works so well for me, but dpsquat has done my diets/prep for the past years and this is what I pulled from our conversation. Any input, especially from Phil (he spoke highly of how knowledgable you were a few times) is apprecaited.
This is what I do post workout. As to the best route pre/during I'm not completely sure, though I on and off throw down roughly 10g of bcaa's during the workout and some before hand.
dp had me begin sipping 1 serving of vitargo mixed with 25g of optimum bcaa powder, all mixed in a gatorade. I would start sipping this 15min before the end of the workout until about 15min after, then consuming a solid meal (the solid meal was from MY reasoning not his). From what I understand, if one big goal post workout is to replenish the glycogen stores in the muscle, it's best to use bcaa's and something like vitargo RATHER than a protein shake with carbs as protein slows down carbohydrate absorbtion but bcaa's do not. My reasoning for the solid meal after the coctail is that I figured a liquid protein may still slow the absorbtion of any vitargo left in the system but a solid protein would digest slowly and let the vitargo/bcaa's do their job. Any input on this idea would be great.
