PRAYERS PLEASE FOR A FALLEN BRO ABOUT TO FACE THE FEDs MUSIC

Our friend MAVERICK has his final sentencing hearing in Federal Court on this coming Tue, 8/4/09. He has never ratted/cooperated with LE, never done anyone wrong, ever. He is a 21 on the Federal Guidelines...meaning 36-47mo sentence is suggested.
If you remember (many of you vets may) I was a 19 on the Federal Guidelines in my ordeal beginning 7/06. All the bros on this board prayed and hoped for the best for me. My sentence was to be 24-36mo. I received a 6mo home detention on 9/07...no ratting, never did anyone wrong either. I have since retired but still have fond feeling for all the bros here who prayed and were pulling for me. It is my opinion that the prayer and positive energy was partly responsible for my miracle, in addition to a compassionate judge Motz, and the help of 2 great lawyers, Rick Collins and my local guy Andy Alperstein. MAV is lucky enough to also have Rick in his corner.
Let all pull and pray for a great guy, MAVERICK, so that on 8/4, he will be as fortunate as I was.

I don't kno the circumstances, but I can kinda guess.. If they really have no prior record, they could get lucky with the home confinement.. But that's really gonna depend on the judge.. Worst case if they do get time, I doubt it's more than 12-18 months.. I had an acquaintance of mine get busted for selling oxy's (also federal), and he had a semi-lengthy record.. The recommendation was like 12-15 years with his priors, and he got 5 yrs.. The shitty thing with fed time tho, is you're serving 85% of it even with good behavior.. State sentences, you could easily end up serving less than 1/2 your time with parole..

Ya if you can show precident from other similar cases it will go a LONG way because these judges, at least the good ones, adhere to a code in which precidence is more important than just about anything as long as there arent too many differences in cases and he feels your remorseful. Sounds like a good atty.

My prayers and energy go out to Maverick. Interesting name in many ways all fallen brothers are true Mavericks standing up to ridiculous laws not based upon science, but upon personal agenda.

It the same ole over and over again. Perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about but pot became illegal out of a self interest smear campaign build upon racism and fear of the unknown.

Maybe we can hold a group pray?

After all maybe the legal system can bring some sanity to this?

I've been waiting for the right time to mention this, so maybe this is the right time:

If Rosa Parks had sat in the back of the bus as she was told to do, where would our civil rights be today?

If Martin Luther King had shut up & kept quiet about his "dream" where would our civil rights be today?

I'm not black, but the point I'm trying to make with the Afro American race based civil rights references above is that heroes make sacrifices so that common men can enjoy freedoms.

I've read that The American Medical Association recomended against banning OTC AAS availability back when that decision was being made by lawmakers. If that's true, then either ignorance or corruption cause the problems average athletes face today.

Legit western pharma companies know that raw powders are the backbone of illicit AAS supply & they would love to see the laws change so that regular folks could get more free access to AAS. After all, AAS is MEDICINE.

What I'm proposing is that bros who have guts should organize politically & seek pharma company support for lobbying the feds to repeal/rescind/ammend the errant laws stiffling free access to AAS.

Why should average people have free access to booze & tobacco, while athletes risk legal hassles or using AAS?

Who will lobby for change?
