I was inspired to write this after reading the bb'ing downward spiral thread. Well, as someone who used to eat steak while his family ate ramen noodles I'm pretty f'ing ashamed of some of the things I've done. I didn't want to give up taking the things that made my body better, but didn't want to take from my family either. My problem was I could think progressively in the gym, but not outside. As soon as I started thinking of legal, smarter ways to make more money on top of my normal gear/supplement costs, my physique got better. I was not as stressed about bills and other things in life and felt like I could budget my lifestyle and I wasn't digging myself into a hole. I now live by the phrase "your only as big as your wallet"
As far as diet goes, I went to dinner with my trainer the other night who is an IFBB, his dinner was french fries, open face roast beef sandwich, beer, cigar. He does it a few times/wk when he's not training for a show. Seems like this isn't one of those sports that if first you dont succeed, try ,try again. Nah, not this. You either got it or ya dont, and guys like this can train/diet half as hard and fuck up 90% of the rest. And I'm convinced it's not all GH either. Just a little insite
