Why no just sip on a Essential amino acid/BCAA mix thru out the day and take a slow digesting protien shake before bed?

I've been read a lot on how a lot of protein we eat dosent get digested and is wasted.

allleeyyyy....ooop! LMAO

ANSWER THIS

Why no just sip on a Essential amino acid/BCAA mix thru out the day and take a slow digesting protien shake before bed?

I've been read a lot on how a lot of protein we eat dosent get digested and is wasted.

WHY WOULD YOU EVER USE BCAAs WITH A COMPLETE PROTEIN SOURCE? EVEN AN INCOMPLETE PROTEIN SOURCE? WHAT IS THE POINT? DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE AMINO ACID-PROTEIN RELATIONSHIP?

Phill i don't, could you explain.

amino acids are the building blocks of protein, protein = amino acids. Once eaten, protein will be broken down by protease enzymes into amino acids.
So in you daily nutrition (whole foods) and shakes there are enough amino acids. You dont need to take amino's seperately, a waste of money imo.
Think i read a study just recently which stated that our amino acid profile is constantly full (when you eat normal) so there is no reason to take even more..

but maybe i am incorrect.

aminos

I was reading an article where it was basically saying that protein from whey or fish whatever doesnt get broken down completely when taken in large amounts. Whether it be because of lack of enzymes or whatever to completely digest it. So this article suggest that you take in amino acids that are basically broken down protein for better muscle repair.

to slow the release/ absorption of protein for bed time fasting theres a few things you can do. 1, eat a few spoonfulls of natural peanut butter with your protein source, the fats and oils will slow the absorption, giving you protein at a steady rate all night. 2, eat eggs before bed, casien protein is slow releasing and generally will do the same thing as the peanut butter method

Nice article an answer to exactly what i was looking for

Capsules and powdered free-form amino acids, although still somewhat expensive, are likewise being used by increasing numbers of top amateur and professional athletes.

The value of free-form amino acids is first and foremost that they don't require digestion. The term 'free-form' means exactly that: They are free of chemical bonds to other molecules and so move quickly through the stomach and into the small intestine, where they're rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream.

Upon absorption, amino acids are processed by the liver. When you eat a steak, for example, only relatively few amino acids escape the metabolic actions of the liver. Yet the liver can process only so many at one time, and taking a dose of 3-4 grams of rapidly absorbed amino acids exceeds the liver's capacity, resulting in the aminos being directed to the tissues that require them, such as muscle in the case of bodybuilder recovering from training. Thus, the concept of 'directed amino acids'.

While sound in theory, does it work in practice? As early as 1990, the Bulgarian national weightlifting team began trials to determine if free-form amino acids were a boost to muscular growth. The work was so successful that part of the study was replicated on the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center. Since then, top bodybuilders and powerlifters around the world today - including Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates, and 'Mr. Powerlifting' Ed Coan - have benefited from this new research.

My Opinion

BCAA's and/or EAA's for reason of effacy and cost are best reserved for training time only when you body will make best use of that form of amino.

Outside of that window you want a protein that 'requires' to be broken down in order to aid your metabolism. If you are healthy (kidneys) amoung other things, and you train hard, you don't have to worry about eating too much protein or not breaking down the protien you eat.
