iv eat "white easy cook rice", but been told i need to swap to "white basmati rice", i asked the lad why and he said "coz its better", but couldnt tell me why

went the supermarket before and the amount of different types of rice is crazy

i also noticed they had "brown rice" and also "wholegrain brown rice", this was the most expensive

does it matter what type i eat, i hear brown just has more fibre, which is better for smoother shits, but nothing eles

any thoughts?

Basmati and white long grain relatively low gi if your worried about that sort of thing, almost the same as brown. There quick to cook, , cheap, easy to digest, and taste nice so they do me

Don't eat brown rice. The bran/endosperm has antinutrients which prevent the digestion/absorption of minerals you are consuming in that meal. If you're going to eat rice, go with white.

Here is an interesting article about rice.

Is Rice Unhealthy? | Mark's Daily Apple

It's not really that bad, it's just not very nutritive. I would personally rather eat yams, plantains, squash or something that has more nutrition per calorie. Rice is cheap though, which is good. :)

I know it's probably not the best, but it's by far the most convenient. I get the 10-Minute Success brown rice bags. Just boil a bag in a pan on the stove for 10 minutes and it's ready to go.

Basmati rice with lemon and chicken!

Brown rice and all that wild grain stuff is gross, I can't stomach it.

i always go with white rice because it agrees with my stomach better with brown feel more bloated and gassy.

I do eat Wild or black rice from time to time because it actually has a flavor i really like but its rather expensive

I like to put 1 cup consisting of jasmine, black rice(sometimes Basmati, wild rice or brown rice in the mix also) with 1 onion plus a lot of herbs and spices into the rice cooker.

wow thought for sure I would see nothing but brown rice.
White rice is shocking to hear on here. I've heard so many rag on that stuff over they years saying it has no nutritional value.
I have no problem eating brown rice especially if I put some ranks red hot on it or creole seasoning

I eat white rice after a workout, it has a high GI Index and I usually want more glucose in the blood after training. Other times during the day, I'll eat Brown Rice, lower GI, more controlled Glucose Response.

With all that said, I still don't think it matters that much, as excess calories are what is usually making us fat.. :) - So, eat what rice your prefer, but most importantly, eat the right portion amount.

Someone just suggested Jasmine rice from Trader Joes to me. They said it tastes better then regular rice.
