Sounds like a great day to do a 48-rep set 😃

I say do a 6x8 cluster on the leg press.
 
Birthday Leg workout with my 20 year old.

2 sets seated hamstrings
2 set unilateral leg press
2 sets adductors
2 sets leg extension
2 sets standing calf raises

Nothing impressive but I do what I can do without getting hurt and try and take all sets close or to failure

I did heavy dumbbell pullovers last night. Lying flat on bench head hanging over the edge. till the dumbbell touched the floor. Slow and concise. 90,100,110,120#. 12-15 reps. One of the few upper body exercises I can still do fairly heavy with hurting my shoulders.
 
Cluster from today’s legs. If you’re ever in KC, and you’re a bodybuilder, go to Flex. Incredible gym. (If you’re a powerlifter, go to Strong).

Clusters are amazing, especially for quads and triceps IMO. Great way to rack up a lot of near-failure reps while only getting the fatigue of actually hitting failure once. 6x4 muscle rounds ala Scott Stevenson are where I started, but I’ve found 4-5x8-10 to be super productive for quads. And it may sound like bro science, but I swear the combination of relatively high tension with a huge metabolic stimulus is A1 for developing roundness. I think this is why Tuor’s trainees often improve so much in that regard.

Muscle rounds are just a type of cluster set. So is DC-style rest pause. There are infinite possibilities, you can manipulate the reps per round, proximity to failure, rest periods in tons of ways.

I usually go shorter. Mostly Dr Scott’s iteration of 6x4 with 10 seconds rest in between.
 
Definitely not hardcore or an alpha move but something I’ve been debating throwing in when trying to alternate a little more glute/ham and quad dominant leg days. Today was:
2 sets to failure seated hamstring curls
2 sets 45 degree extensions w/4 plates
2 sets hip thrusters
3 sets leg extension
All sets to failure

 
When I go to 90lbs on chins I always get a little nervous with the full stretch. Got to make sure to live to fight another day so to speak 😂
i cant do chins anymore, even bodyweight gives me tendonitis on the end of the bicep. sucks because theyre probably my favorite bicep builder. luckily i can still get away with ng pullups
