Sleep apnea

Sleep study completed..Sleep tech cant give results due to it coming from the VA. So ill likely get my results in 6 months :banghead:

I finally discovered that I had sleep apnea 8 years ago. During my first sleep test I had 260 Apnea's in a 6 hour period.
Was lucky to be able to get a CPAP with the nasal pillow. I don't know how those who use a full face mask are able to do it. It took me an easy 3-4 months just to get used to mine.

My cpap machine starts out at a pressure of 5 and slowly builds up to 8.

I have recently come across a new OSA device that I would really like to try out as soon as I can get in to see my doctor.....

Its called The Winx® Sleep Therapy System. you can go to apnicure. com to see better for yourself. Might help those out having a hard time adjusting to the more common cumbersome devices out there.

Wow. That looks interesting. I wonder if it'll work for mouth breathers too.

How much is that unit?

Would losing weight cure sleep apnea?

Not necessarily. Some skinny people have this too. If you developed this condition after putting on a good amount of weight, there's a great chance that losing some will reverse it.

I did the home sleep study months ago. 11 apneas per hour on my side, 24 per hour in my back so mild/moderate sleep apnea. Started on my cpap 2 weeks ago....due to my schedule I don't sleep a lot but I can tell I'm feeling better with the cpap. I have the nasal pillows...they are ok but at only 2 weeks in I am stil getting used to them. Some mornings I have waken up to find I've snatched the mask off in my sleep

I know I'm bad my wife wakes me up when not breathing she should put a pillow over my face instead. If she snored and snorted like me she would be sleeping outside in the shed

The dreaded snort haha.

Just switched to my first nasal pillow, the Piliaro Q.

OMG!! I wish I did this months ago. So comfortable that I hardly feel it. Had a GREAT nights rest. Way better than anything else I have tried. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This is the only mask I can stand. I still have issues getting used to it. But it's by far the least obtrusive and most comfortable. I've tried several others including the top rated full face mask. I always came back to this one. I still rarely make it through the night without taking it off in my sleep though. I'm fucked.

I too struggle with keeping it on all night

I use a nasal pillow and chin strap. Works fine. I hate the dent in the top of my head from the chin strap but I sleep well.
