My fiance used to work with a computer all day and she had some problems with her wrists and elbows, now she has started working out with me, I started her off at light weights, but when she does pull downs, or rows, she complains that her elbows start hurting like they did when she used to work in front of a pc all day.

think I should lower the weights even more? is there something she can take for her joints that may help to keep them from hurting when she does try out other exercises?

I was thinking of some deca, but she doesn't want try that, and I don't want to keep bringing it up as I don't want her to feel that I am trying to pressure her into using something that she doesn't wanna use.

any help would be greatly appreciated fellas, she's really upset that she's been having to stop mid-work out due to the pain, I mean to the point of tears, she's really wanting to lift.

thanks for any help you guys can give me,

JW

it's odd for elbows to hurt with pullimg movemrnts--does she hyperextend them??

My sister is a Medical Case Manager for an insurance company. She has had many cases of carpal and the like where folks get their arms and shoulders operated on and they are still in pain. She is called in then as the 'expert' in these cases and works with the physicians and lawyers.

Not knowing your fiance at all and her condition, the following is merely speculation. My sister found these people have neck problems and the pain is an impingement on nerves in this area. Once her clients had this surgery, they were pain free.

The point of all of this is that it may have absolutely nothing to do with pushing or pulling movements. It may have everything to do with her straining her neck and back though. This type of injury is extermely hard to diagnose and requires a very competent doctor.
