I posted this in another thread, but wanted to throw it out here.

Air Force pic is me at 20, lifting 4-5 week, eating 150g of protein at around 160lbs. I think I actually trained/lifted more often than I do now, pretty much all I did was lift in my free time.

It’s important to note that my frame in that pic is the body frame of everyone in my family - very skinny. Endurance athletes, everyone does ultra marathons or distance cycling.

Other pic is me now, 220 lbs, after a decade of gear. I can still bang out a 6 minute mile in a pinch, but I also can pull a 600+ lb deadlift cold any day of the year, and am generally strong as hell.

Just funny how transformative this stuff is.

Inb4 “you coulda done this natty”

Yeah, I know, but I’d be weaker, fluffier, and had less fun.

You were going to post a vid of the 600 pound dead lift. We are still waiting.

Drop the link here if you posted it already and I missed it.

Shit you right. I already left the gym for the day, let me go rip one in the garage and figure out how to upload a video here, brb.

Fuck being natural… that shit died for me soooooo many years ago! Do what makes you happy and what makes you feel the best!

@Virtuous quick on the draw when called out...props to you brother!

Every skinny kid dreams of getting big lol and nice progress made over the years since so you should see you came a long way since.

Great job man! I do want to say this, you have to emphasize training and diet too. The only reason I feel the need to say that is due to the mindset of today's youth. All they care about are the AAS. They buy their gym membership, have their outfits ready, stick a needle in their ass and head to the gym for their first workout. My point being, they've taken their first shot before EVER setting foot in a gym or picking up a weight! I started pretty young but in those days the gyms were hardcore and you trained because you loved too. Love of training has to come first because things may change down the road, injuries, illness, etc. and one may not be able to continue with AAS but they should always push the iron with or without gear! All that said, if there's someone who wants to chime in with, "you could have done that natty", save it!!

It's great that you posted the deadlift too!

really noone is moaning that its a trap bar deadlift which is apparently quite a bit easier? :D
i am shocked
(meant as a joke with a grain of truth @Virtuous ... :p)
good Job!
Just noticed that too and don't knock the trap bar, it's been a godsend for my old ass back!

i mainly use the trap bar by myself for deadlifts (also sometimes for a squat variation where i flip it over to increase range of motion)
i love it but it is def. easier than conventional :)
