I'm a Superman freak. I have been since I was little. In a weird way, he's one of the reasons I got involved in bodybuilding. I was always disappointed with the way Superman was portrayed in the movies. They made him much too weak and vulnerable. Pisses me off.

Anyway, here's some little facts you may not know about Superman.

Superman is capable of reaching near omnipotent levels of power. However, he creates psychological/physical barriers for himself because when in his strongest form, he is a threat to the entire planet. He becomes so powerful that everyday tasks could end up destroying the world. Just the energy that he radiates can become dangerous.

He is capable of moving stars, single handedly destroying entire meteor showers, a direct hit from a nuclear bomb is much like gnat piss to him, he can hear cries for help from across the planet, he has x-ray, heat, and zoom vision, he has powerful telekinesis, he can reverse time, he can re-incarnate himself, he once fought a battle on the surface of the sun, he can freeze planets with his breath, he can erase memories,

Superman has never fought a battle in his most powerful form. For him to do that would destroy the planet...that's why whenever he may seem to be getting defeated, he's always able to pull out just enough power to get the job done. When he fought doomsday, he was as powerful as he could become without becoming a danger to the world himself. By the way, did you all know Doomsday was faster than Flash?

Superman could singlehandedly wipe out all the x-men, the hulk, batman, spiderman and any other substandard superhero's you put in front of him. Even if it meant destroying the planet at the same time. But that's where his other weakness lies, he cares too much for everyone and it causes him problems.

Ok, your nerd report is over.

Yeah man... big time Supes fan right here. Been one all my life. I blame him for the reason I got into bodybuilding.

Some of the things you mentioned like him tilting planets off axis and blowing out stars were pretty amazing when I was younger, all of that stuff ended when the "Time Crisis!" story line came out, and made him less "God"-like. Which is fine by me, it gave him some weaknesses that way therefore making storylines more interesting.

The new movie... I'm going to be missing for a couple days when it comes out. I've seen all the trailers and I'm riveted during each one. This one is going to be the mother of all Supes movies, I can feel it!

Also

Pink Kryptonite makes him look like Brandon Routh, as evidenced by Superman Returns.

He's got nothing on Q. And Q doesn't have any moral weaknesses either :p

Q's main weakness is his fascination with Picard. That's his ultimate downfall.

But he's still too selfish, so ultimately, if it came down to thw wire, he wouldn't care less about Picard.

Problem with the above is that Superman is a dc character while the hulk, xmen are marvel characters so claiming one is better stronger faster etc than the other doesn't make sense as the creators would not reconize the other as existing in there comic universe, not sure if any of that makes sense

There is nothing substandard about the Hulk, Making a character all powerful is kind of lame, Superman is just to clean cut all powerful for my taste

Hulk has his weakness(banner, anger, isolation) and also is a reluctant superhero who just wants to be left alone where as superman flies all over looking to save the day

As far as motivating people into bodybuilding I think Ferrigno is more inspirational than steve reeves

As for the movie, it got great reviews! Next Tuesday 10pm is the first showing and I already got my tickets!

I have my ticket reserved as well. I still need to get tickets for the IMAX showing with the 3D footage.

Leviathan, you're already alright by me.

Brooklyn, pink kryptonite, hehe, that was a good one.:p

Big A, there you go pulling out your omnipotent one again. Remember though, Superman is capable of becoming near omnipotent as well. He may not have all of Q's abilities, but he could burn the hair off Q's ass and freeze his nipples right before he gave him a light speed ass whoopin'. Even if Q managed to kill Superman, Superman would reincarnate.

Vespa, DC and Marvel have crossed paths many times. It helps boost sales for both companies. Unfortunately, they always kind of conclude with a draw in the battles. But ability for ability, Superman is the MAN. And by the way, I think you meant Christopher Reeve, not Steve Reeves.

Alin, Man of Steele, Wynn it's good to see fellow fans. I just hope they do him justice.

Nah, the Hulk's symmetry sucks. Look at my avatar. I know it doesn't show the whole body, but Superman is very symmetrical and ripped. The hulk's top heavy and has a lot of water retention. Not to mention his skin tone. No amount of protan will fix that.

Hulk's bigger, that's it. Superman's faster, moves at light speed, shoots lasers from his eyes, can freeze planets, stop/reverse time, can survive in space and has unlimited power. Plus again, he looks better than the Hulk. Hulk's got more of a strongman build, not bodybuilder. Even so, Superman is still stronger. Hell, even Spiderman gave the Hulk problems.

Huge Superman fan here

Hey BBJ,
nobody was more disappointed than me when Christopher Reeves portrayed the man of steel as such a dishrag wimp! I am not crazy about this new movie cuz I think superman has to have an olympian caliber physique. Still, I'll see it just on the chance those hollywood people got it closer to DC this time. Hell even the tv superman with George Reeves was a badder ass than the last go round with christopher.

And Superman would win in a powerlifting meet.

I wonder if all DC fans are powerlifters and all Marvel fans are bodybuilders???

Questions

Does Superman have a God?

If Lex Luther shoves kryptonite in a warhead and fires it at Superman would that kill Superman?

Anybody with a time machine could easily destroy Superman, simply go back in time and capture him as a baby when he landed and surround him in krptonite forever burried alive LMAO.

Is Superman imortal? I know he ages so wont he eventually die of old age and in his old age when hes wearing diapers will he still be as strong?

|--[\\\]>--------- Is it just me or can anyone else tell that Clark kent is Superman w/glasses?

Doomsday over powered Superman plain and simple...beat him down till he had no more. dont get me wrong, i'm all for superman, but doomsday was built to kill superman.

Superman and hulk would be a good fight. Keep in mind, Hulk only gets bigger and stronger as he gets angrier.....
