This post is for Newbies who want to learn about the wonders of T3!
(if you are a vet who knows how to use the stuff, please disregard this post)
sTep 1) reduce meal size
sTep 2) reduce rest intervals between sets when training. use your new-found 20 minutes to do some more cardio.
sTep 3) as you are doing the cardio, repeat this mantra: "even though it is easily available and cheap, cytomel is probably not the simplest way to lose bodyfat.
there, my foolproof T3 program
I actually have slightly low t3/t4 levels, and prefer eating clean year round and training fast. I've personally seen some of my friends over-use t3 and then feel too lousy to really train hard. at this point they often start bumping up their AAS dosages in an attempt to combat their lagging training intensity and muscle fullness.
my other issue with casual t3 supplementation is in the dosing accuracy. your body is naturally producing the equivalent of 10-20mcg a day. some of the dosages i see thrown around, are several times that. even if you are conservative, you must take into consideration that the dose is in micrograms. this is a TINY unit, that i believe some of the research companies cannot really dose accurately. the last time i messed with t-3 was a few years ago with a product from one of the most reputable sites. everyone at the gym kept on giving away the same bottle, because it was way over-dosed an no one could figure out how strong the crap actually was. we eventually just threw it out.
i think thyroid supplementation can be very beneficial for those who actually need it, or are actually getting their levels checked, but for casual weight loss purposes, there are easier and more effective options.
i am also including t-4 in here too. even though t-4 is supposedly safer since the body has to convert it to t-3, this can actually lead to more dosage error. a newbie who does not know the chemistry, may not immediately "feel" the t4, and then up taking a much higher dose than needed.
the last pet peeve i have is with the idea that you HAVE to use thyroid if you are using GH. i have seen plenty of people, including myself, get sliced using gh without thyroid. maybe if you are using year-round at a moderate to high dose, you will experience a reduction in endogenous thyroid levels, but then in that case you should be getting bloodwork anyway, so you would know. if you are just using a low to moderate dose of gh for the summer or a show, your naturally thyroid levels are not going to instantly go to zip.
sorry for the rant.... just ticks me off when people look to thyroid without really covering the basics in their training, diet and research.
