Trapezoid is killing me what to do

i believe i injured my trapezius (right one only) doing incline presses and i was going for 4-6 reps which i usually do once a week but the next day i had a HORRIBLE pain in my right trapeziusmuscle and i waited four days thought it went away and so i worked out again and the pain the next day was even worse! How do i heal it faster or wtf happened to it i feel knotts on it but i got icy hot and that seems to help alot but my question is have any of you experienced this and how long did it take to heal....thank you very much

NOt enough info to reply intelligently. All i can say is ice it 20 mins at a time. Take some advil for inflamation. Go to the chiropractor and get some electrical stim and some ultra sound. get rest...eat well, and dont aggravate the injury. If your in pain for more then a week of this...then you will need to see an orthopedic dr
 
I hurt my trap about two years ago. The pain was so bad I couldnt move any which way without severe pain for 2-3 days. After the fourth day it was manageable, but the fact that the pain was so severe at first I think I rested it for 5 days after the pain went away. From the day of injury to the day I got back into gym was about 11-12 days. Be carful what ever you do because it sounds like you reinjured and that could be worse.
 
if it hurt the NEXT DAY......its nothing...a strain, pull or something
and you should have worked around it and been cautious for a least 2 weeks

you prolly reinjured it now take 10 to 14 days easy and work around it
or it will never go away
 
Thanks guys yeah i guess its alot of legs and ab workouts with LIGHT bicep tricep (if it does not hurt it) for a while...no back or chest and shoulders :(
 
i know calves and machine quad workouts wont hurt my trap cause it is not involved in it but about the bicep and tricep workouts should i prolly stay away from them all together on upper body i mean i know NO back or chest workouts cause thats what hurt it but is arms okay for just lightweight?

Not to be a dick but trapezoid is a shape. Trapezius is a muscle.

anyone got views on this can i workout arms lightly and not mess it up again or am i going to have to suck it up and just say no to all upper body workouts? :(
 
omg........okay so now we know its a shape and a bone in the wrist lol im just going to take several days off upper body

I would take some ALEVE,,perhaps some massage and some hot showers and not train for a week.
 
update on annoying injury

been three days since i injured my trap muscle for the second time(thought it was healed the first time) now it still has a little knot and kind of sore but im thinking its a strain and nothing serious like a tear or anything but the time off from the gym is killing me. today when i was at work i started to think what if it is more serious than a simple knot or strain? Medical bills are kind of high now and dont wanna add to them going to the doc over what probably is a simple strain that will heal itself in a week but it def got me thinking today
