What do you guys make of this?

Got two e-mails from a .gov address(gave adress to FBI field office in north caroline)and a carbon copy of the same e-mail titled to be from my high speed service provider. Said they had tracked my IP address as logging on to 30 illegal websites and so on. Had attachments, but the school e-mail system from where they were forwarded said the attachments had viruses. These were also sent with several other flagged 'virus' emails from unknown people. It sounds bogus, but bothered me that was copied by my internet provider. And why would anyone who considered you suspicious tip me off to them tracking my activity. THanks

I got a few of those today as well. Our IT guy said that it's people looking to get your info. Social security, date of birth stuff like that. Just delete them. The government won't email you. They'll come to your door.

Our IT people also warned us about these - it's a hoax and has a nasty virus attached, DON'T open it.

Trust me, as a former fed, (lawyer, many, many years ago - don't want to freak anybody out) if they were after you, they would indeed be "at your door", NOT emailing you.
