Does it make sense, that I gain more fat off of a low carb/ high protien/moderate-high fat diet with a lower caloric intake than I do with a high carb/moderate protien/low fat diet with a caloric surplus? If so, why?
What were your measurements BF% wise before and after the low carb diet, and what were the measurements before and after high carb diet? Your explanation is a little vague...
it could be a lot of different things in terms of your metabolism, body type, etc.
Carbs and their effect vary from person to person. For me being an ectomorph i can eat a high amount of carbs and not notice any fat gain even when eating 400-500g a day.
No doubt. My body, much to my dismay, responds terribly in regards to fat gain when grams from carbohydrate exceed 200g per day. I have fat boy genetics - endo thru and thru - so if you're a "hardgainer" your body may respond differently, i.e. perhaps more sensitive to certain fats than grams from carbohydrate. Do you keep a food log?
