Does anyone know where I can buy this device for developing the calves? I used it at Golds Gym in Tokyo with good results, but cannot find it anywhere after moving back to Canada. Not in the stores, nor can I find a site that sells it online.
It is a device composed of two or three horizontal poles or bars, about a foot or so wide, and one cross bar. You slip your feet between the horizontal bars, one foot on either side of the cross bar. The end of the cross bar sticks up in the air so you can slip light plates onto it.
One way of using the device is to sit lengthwise on a bench with your legs straight, but your feet inside the device hanging over the edge of the bench. Then you raise your toes and the device, like a reverse calf raise.
I think it was originally developed to rehabilitate an injured calf or shin. But it works great to create definition between the shin and the front of the calf.
