Where to get the best deal on grass fed beef?

I've been wanting to add this to my diet for a long time. I've checked the prices and simply can't afford to eat this, even in moderation. Does anybody have any good ideas on where to get grass fed beef online? Should I try a local butcher and talk about getting a cow?

85/15 ive found for 5.99 a pound which is not doable for me since id eat a lb a day....
Reasonable to me would be 3.99...at that price I'd find a way.

My opinion? You should do what ever it takes, within reason. If you have to limit some other food or supplement, do it. It's that important.

I like US wellness meats.

The cheapest place in america is

ORGANIC PASTURES FRESH RAW DAIRY They only ship in Calif..The gr beef is $4 a lb

Dave, this may sound crazy, but try craigslist. I met up w/ some great local farmers in my area. Extremely nice people and they are charging me 3.49 a pound for 90% lean 100% grass fed beef... They even offered to take me for a tour on their farm once the weather shapes up.

That sounds awesome. Hell, I'd probably take the tour. It would be interesting.

We have local farms around here. Carl Lenore on SHR rants and raves about supporting locals and how you can often just approach them at their door.

Once I get settled in here with a job, I'll have to invest in this stuff one way or another. I'd rather have less healthy food than bulk loads of inferior meats.

I acutally just found someone local who can get me 95/5 bull meat for1.59 lb. Comes in a 50 lb order. I picked up 36lb 93/7 earlier and he also has chicken breast for 1.25 lb and comes in 40 lb order. None is grass fed, but its the best prices I have found.

You missed the point..The poster is looking for a deal on grass fed due to its healthy benefits.
