Why is synthetek's cart for shopping not secure?

Since they no longer take paypal I don't want to submit card info that is not on a secure site.

hey not to try to change your mind about an order but i used my cc 2 mths ago w/ no problems but its up to you its your $$ and i check w/my bank every two days to keep track of all my accounts

It uses secure tunelling. The information sits on the Synthetek server and gets downloaded directly into Synthetek's computers. Due to the tunelling, the info cannot be seen by anyone else in transit. The only time the info can be accessed is for the very brief period that it sits on the server, and even then a hacker has to break through the servers security measures. There have not been any security breaches for the entire time that Synthetek has been in business.

If you are a repeat customer, you can email Synthetek and request to pay by PayPal.

You can also order by fax. Email them for them number.

Cool I will shoot them an e-mail then. Call me paranoid but I have my personal info compromised before and it was a bitch to get the money deposited back. i may get one of those pre-paid cards for any business transactions in the future.

Im a computer tech and Big A is correct. Synthetek wouldn't appeal as a target to most hackers. Credit card info these days isn't as valuable as passwords to hackers. Cracking some ones ebay password with a Spam email is pretty easy. Once they have that they can hack into the pay pal account a lot of times with the same password. This is one of the big attacks going on lately, along with online banking password cracking or stealing.

Big A for people that know any better, if you are interested in making your site operate with SSL to please worried customers PM me, I can explain how. It’s not that expensive also.
