Just FYI for those of you who are World Strongest Man fans. Right now the qualifying heats are on. Kevin Nee got knocked out, barely. Tarmo Mitt made everything look pretty easy. Mariusz looks like he got hurt during the fingers, calf I think.

Yep 2008, Mariusz won, barely. A guy named Derek Poundstone almost beat him, it came down to the stones and Derek dropped the last one & Mariusz put his up.

Arlid looks fantastic! He got a better build than mariusz.

He was one that jumped out at us too. He was pretty dang lean!

arild is young as hell, who said he is done...not sure Mariusz is done either as he's been doing some shows since his 5th win

and there is no doubt Poundstone is great and is a threat to Mariusz but Mariusz won it on a pulled calf that he had torn earleir in the year and a knee that requires surgery which he post-poned on purpose in fear of a negative outcome...u can tell mariusz was hurting, he never deadlifts like that but his knee and calf are issues but he still won the train pull...thats a fuckin champion

ARILD HIMSELF SAID HE IS DONE. He's going to pursue pro boxing apparently as he's fed up with such little prize money in strongman.

Mariusz himself said he was happy with five wins. He said he'd likely do exhibitions and local shows but that he planned on retiring from the WSM series. He may have changed my mind, but this is what he stated publicly immediately after this past win.

You guys understand that the WSM competition is finished in late summer and just doesn't air until months later, right?

Yeah Mariusz says that he is done. Hopefully he wont be. Derek Poundstone should have won it but the stone slipped on him. I was fortunate enough to be there. Its crazy to see how big these guys are in person. Id like to see Arild stay. He did the stones in under 20 secs.

I know the show airs months later, in this case the contest took place in sept. I know what Mariusz said after this past win, i guess its just too damn hard for me to not see him in the WSM, if this is true it sucks, but the contests he entered after the WSM is what made me think he isn't done
