Hello All,

Newbie here who is on prescribed Androgel for low T -- it works is the good news...but also comes with bloating....I am on 5g a day and feel a lot better..was wondering what I can take with it that will stop the bloating but not kill the new found libido. I know there are some anti estrogens out here and AI's but confused as to which product I need to accomplish this...any advice from you experts out there I would appreciate.

Thanks in advance.

This question belongs in the beginner's forum. Your thread will probably get deleted.

Check in with your doctor. He should be checking your T levels (total and free), estradiol, psa, etc.

Your estrogen is probably getting elevated, and he will probably prescribe anastrozole, .5 mg twice a week. This will elevate your test too by inhibiting conversion to estrogen.

You want total test north of 500 and estradiol of 20-30. If you are not achieving these levels, you can look at Testim which absorbs better or just going to injections of test cypionate.

Can't do anything w/o labs. Back to your doctor. Good luck.

I havent really heard much of that complaint either. Your getting such a small dosage delivered transdermally you shouldnt get bloated.
That's right. Not only are the doses small but there is a lot of 5-alpha reductase in the skin; so you get more dht conversion which reduces the estro effects further. Transdermal test elevates the dht/t ratio for this reason.

Your bloating may be something else entirely. Need labs to know for sure.

Btw, you can and should aim higher than 500 on total test - but that's the min for decent hrt IMHO. 800 is a better number for most guys, and I feel best higher than that.

What was your E2=estradiol? If E2 was not elevated, your doc is right. No need for anti-estrogen.

If it is 35 or over, your doc is out of line with how HRT is done by most endos and anti-aging docs. "Doesn't believe in anti estrogens or AI's" ... time to look into getting a new doc candidly.

If your E2 is over 35, take .5 mg arimidex twice a week and retest. Should drop you into mid 20s. You can calibrate up or down. Should take care of any bloat.
