I just found out an old friend Todd Swinney had past a while ago. He worked with Kevin Levrone.
Was a well known nutritionist through out the body building community. Wrote many articles in
muscle & fitness years ago. Died of a heart attack in his sleep. This is a shock beings he was only
in his 50's and very healthy. Wasn't on anything either and hasn't been for years. Sad...

Sorry to hear about your friend. I bet his family was really shocked. I dont know why heart attacks seem to happen in sleep so much. I entered V tach once and my defibrillator had to fire off 2x to save me. Scary stuff.

Out of curiosity, what was it that he and Levrone worked together on?

They were friends and I think he mapped out Levrone's diets plans when competing. Todd
ran a gym here in Glenn Burnie Maryland called Maximum fitness where Levrone lived for a while
I use to go there and sometimes see Levrone come in and pick up supplements from him.

Right. But haven't seen him in years and just found out as I mentioned a while ago.

Those taffy bars Todd had at the store were amazing. I always wondered if they were actually what the label claimed.

Todd did Kevin's nutrition when he was competing, also Theresa Hessler's and a ton of other athletes. He was in Alabama for the last several years of his life. I saw him when he had come up to MD to check on a business venture he was stressed out about. Dude was telling me how proud he was of his son winning the Mr. Alabama title and going into the nutrition/strength coaching business. Here is Justin's website:

Its a weird feeling when someone you know dies and you aren't aware. Its like, life goes on.
What shocked me, he was on the straight and narrow. Didn't drink alcohol smoke or do drugs at all.
Strictly health and fitness all the way.
And here I am older did all the above and alive....

I knew a Mike Swaney who was a Nutritionist/RD out here in Cali, and he passed away 3 years ago at 53yo.

I do remember Todd passing away a few years back though.

He was very stressed out when I last saw him. Especially nowadays with all the economic and political junk going on, we need to remember that stress can kill any of us.

That's true. Haven't seen him since 93 94 before he got into all these business ventures. You said you
got some bars from him. I use to get bulk size pure yohimbe bark from him. And the old Muscle Milk before
they found out it was spiked with some sort of pro hormone and got banned lol. He was a good guy and knew
his shit, that's for sure.

Yeah, when I saw him that time he was talking about a new fat cycling schedule he had used with his son. He had been figuring out exactly how many days were needed for cycling between protein+fat and protein plus carb days.

Well, if you wanna honor Todd for a day, just wear a Hawaiian shirt. Maybe he was trying to go for a Magnum P.I. thing, who knows.

Unfortunately it’s sad but it was just his time. My father wasn’t on anything either...healthy besides his stomach...fell over dead at 52 from a massive heart attack walking down the street. It was a tough one to swallow but it was just his time. Life is a trip. One day you’re here, and the next it’s over.

Wonder if any family history? Genetics rule over any lifestyle choices. If he did gear back in the day, and was also predisposed, the damage doesn't go-away sometimes.
It only gets worse as you have failing health on the inside, atherosclerosis advancing, etc. Sad, much too young.

I recommend everyone 50+, get a calcium score/MRI done. It will lead to more advanced testing depending on your score. (Or not if clean).
Both are good to know.
