Keep us posted Doc.drgoodbody said:Ok, look, I posted on this more than once now, so I'm gonna do this again - for the last time I hope.
1) I have been using adequan for the last 3 weeks - 200mg every 5 days
2) Dosing is anywhere from 2 to 4 mg/kg of body weight - many articles in the veterinary literature on that.
3) Adequan is the same drug as Arteparon which is approved in europe for human use - polysulfated glucosaminoglycan (PSGAG)
4) Adequan helps with CARTILAGE damage - it DOES NOT - I repeat DOES NOT - directly help with ligament or tendon damage (e.g. tendonitis)
5) My joints are feeling progressively better, mostly my shoulders and knees. I believe it is healing me, but it could also be an increase in synovial fluid in the joints as adequan dose promote that as well.
6) The equine and canine versions are identical, just sold differently, canine says 100mg/ml, equine says 500mg/5ml..... duh they are both 100mg/ml.
7) Typical dosing regime in animals (horses) is 28 days (they shoot all 500mg at once, and do it once a week)
8) Adequan is intramuscular - not intraarticular, thank god
9) Despite this, there is anecdotal evidence that IM injections closer to the joint may work better - although most of the effect is systemic, I suppose some local effects may occur (like thru the lymphatic fluid transport, etc - I'm guessing here)
10) I have been using this with GH (3IU ED), thats it, no AAS at present.
I hope this helps.
