Are Your Shoulders Hurting Yet?! Five Tests to See if You Are At Risk For Developing Shoulder Pain.
- Alan D. Tyson PT, SCS, ATC, CSCS ...
**broken link removed**
Thought you all would find this interesting.
And the back-story if your interested . . .
My wife is considering shoulder surgery, which, if it happens, and I think it will,
will occur in the next month or so.
Due to what appeared at the time to be a fairly innocuous slip / fall on the trail
a year ago, she has not shown appreciable improvement in the last six months.
She went and dye injected in her shoulder and then a high-contrast MRI a few
weeks ago and we have discussed the results with a Sports doc who works on
the US Olympic athletes, seems to think she is a good candidate for surgery
for a labram tear. I know it sounds like asking a barber if you need a haircut,
but the pictures tell a pretty convincing story. We will be meeting with the
surgeon and then another for a second opinion in the coming weeks.
Bottom line, take care of your shoulders; the attached article, referencing
bodybuilders, and some tests, and then some exercises to keep them healthy.
I know they look like sissy exercises, but an ounce of prevention might be
worth a pound of cure.
