Art Atwood scammed by promoter?

Look at the third bullet point from the bottom. Did Art really get stiffed for his prize money at the Toronto Pro? Doesn't Wayne DeMillia have the cash bonded etc. before allowing a show to go on etc? Very sad.

Any pro's want to weigh in on how common this is?

I am not a pro but that is a fairly large show and if they can't even afford to pay the winner I don't think it will be around much longer!!!

well, i am not a pro either but, i can tell ya someone else besides nimrod king (yes, that is his real name) has taken over the promotion for next year.... i do not understand why the ifbb does not require the promoters to put the $$$in a escrow account to make siure it is available. king had to know before the show he was unable to pay the winnings...the ifbb lets one of their athletes take it in the ass and have done nothing...supposably good ole' wayne demillia gave atwood $$1000.00...how nice when the prize was 10 times that...

If it was me and this is what I do for a living, I think I'd be talking to a lawyer! ASAP That's like me signing a contract doing my job for those 6weeks and being told sorry. Doesn't work that way. He'll I remember hearing about Lee Preist being fined for not showing up to do a show that he sai he would. I just don't see how someone can sleep at night knowing that they purposely ripped someone off.

I totally agree. If that was what I did for a living, I'd definately be talking to a lawyer. That's the same as going to work, expecting a paycheck, and then getting told, "nope". Thats very sad.
