Hey bros does anyone have any info or routines on this type of training?
 
Blood volume training?

Aerobics? When I go heavy, with few sets, I feel a tremendous pump. Is this blood volume training? Is training at high altitudes blood volume training? I have heard of this before, but nothing medically substantiated. If anyone has anything like this, please post it.
 
from what i understand about this is the main goal involved is to just rush blood into the muscle. that is the main goal of the workout; getting a great pump.

Craig Titus always talks about this shit in his gay articles
 
Just remember that Craig Titus espouses this training, and no one has ever referred to him as a "Mass Monster". All the really big guys lift brutally heavy.
 
blood volume works but is best when worked in conjunction with other rep ranges to attack all the fibers

Blod volume training.

after readin the anabolick edge 2001 (Poul Boreson)
Ididt a blod volume cycel, and was wery pleased with the result.
Its its all about increasing the total amount of blod in the body.
i did 4 weeks off 150mg A50 a day + runing 10km 5x a week, keeping carbs 100g a day to advoid bloding.
If you are low i body fat it will make you look wery good, as the ekstra the ekstra blood in you body will make you unbelivebel full vaskular and pumped.

Poul Boreson belived in doing A50 in the 3 last weeks op til contest, he advised
50mg a day, 3weeks out,
100mg a day 2weeks out,
150mg a dag 1week out.


for more advansed atlets he also advised the use of EPO

workin in higher rep ranges hits different muscle fibers

high reps and short rest activate ampk in muscle which is good

high reps develop better capilary growth

I've watched Markus Ruhl train several times and he doesn't train that heavy.

I just watched his video, and he was doing machine shoulder presses with 525lbs, and Cable rows with 515lbs. if that's "not too heavy" i'd hate to see what heavy is. And Rear laterals with 90's? That's heavy to me.
 
Blood Volume Training is what Craig Titus advocates. It means doing about 4 exercises for 4 sets each in the rep range of 12-20, with minimal rest between sets. I know that him and alot of IFBB pros use higher reps these days but the guys that have that thick dense look are the ones that train heavy in the 4-8 rep range. Look at Lee Priest, Dexter Jackson, Kevine Levrone, Johnny Jackson, and even Dorian. Those guys all have that granite hard look to their muscles and not that puffy, ballooned up look of guys like Titus, Kamali and Chicarillo. Those guys advocate the higher rep range type of training. Nothing against those guys but i think they would look better if they trained with heavy ass weight.

Ronnie on the other hand does train with higher reps too, but he also throws in heavy max set on the basic movements for 4-8 reps. I'm sure doing both types of training would be the best. I personally hate training with higher reps. Don't have the attention span for that!!!LOL

Maybe in his video he trained heavy because he knows that's what everyone wants to see, but he trains with alot more sets and alot less weight then he did in the video. (i promise you that)
 
low reps tend to give a thick dense look to muscles bc of improved contractile properties of the muscle
 
HOWEVER, IT IS BEST TO USE BOTH METHODS FOR ALL AROUND MUSCLE GROWTH

I agree and don't get it. I've read endless articles by some pros saying it's all about pushing the max amount of blood into a muscle - riding a bike for three hours in an open road race can do this to your quads but you probably won't sustain max growth. It may have benefits for improving vascularity some close to a contest (but i don't know that) but I don't see how it has too much merit otherwise.

I could probably attain "the pump" in one pissy but mega-set of say dbells curls of hardly any rest and a dozen variations with whatever weights, but I don't think that is going to spur decent growth.

I am not sure how "the pump" increases muscle growth at all - seems like some talk about it kinda like blowing up a rubber ball and the more air you put in each time the bigger it gets. Could be more to it but I haven't been convinced. IronMike

there is a huge difference in a hard set of 15 - 20 and riding a bike for three hrs.

also, upperbody doesnt have the benefit of much areobic exercise unless u r a rower and even then u r still leaving out a lot of muscle groups

That's exactly my point Mr Magoo - but if it is all about the pump, as some reckon, then does it matter how you get the pump? You will get a pump doing 12 reps, or 32 reps. I don't think it is useful imo - and if you can get it doing 12 or 32, do they both give you the same growth? The "pump" is the symptom of good training most of the time, not the goal... but that's just my view of course.
